Arguments over investment as Anfield Exposure is promised again

The “new look” Koptalk.coN members area is nothing more than mutton dressed as, well as meat unfit for human consumption.

It looks awful, which temporarily distracts visitors from how bad the content itself is.

Oldham was claiming before, during and after his changeover that he had “developers” working on it. He didn’t though, because the site looks like a reject from a design for a site ten years ago. Just more Oldham bullshit.

Other LFC sites have had makeovers this past couple of weeks, or are about to have them. Check out www.talklfc.com (also has an exclusive interview with Bolo Zenden), www.est1892.co.uk (where you’ll find most of those names you knew if you used to be a Koptalk pay-site member) and www.liverpoolway.co.uk (which is a regular home of real inside info, just not presented with a lot of fanfare. Probably the first site to reveal (cryptically) that Noel White was the director who mouthed off to the press). All of these sites look different (or will do once the changes are finalised). All of them look modern and attractive to the eye. Koptalk.coN’s members’ site is pathetic. Dunk doesn’t have the means now to pay designers to do his site though of course, hence his own botched attempts at adapting a skin from elsewhere. Have a look yourself, at http://www.koptalk.coN/members/ubbthreads.php (change the coN to a com).

It may look different, but it’s as crap as ever, as full of bullshit as ever. Someone called “stuartb” asked Oldham about his infamous book. He had a great idea. Seeing as Dunk’s told us repeatedly that the book’s actually finished / got one chapter left to write, there’s clearly a lot of material already there. Why not start publishing some teasers?

Loc: Atlanta, US Just wondering what the latest was on Dunks book. Been looking forward to it coming out for ages and I know he had said it would be ready sometime this season (I think).

Anyone heard? Dunk – any chance of a snippet or two out of it…kind of like the papers do with other peoples books. Might be a good way to get some publicity too before it does launch 😉

Cheers

Loc: UK It’s out this season mate. Although I haven’t been promoting it much for some time, the odd burst of interest keeps coming in. Only the other day someone said another site was mouthing off about it and then BANG, the same day about 20 more orders came in so they’re helping out which is pretty decent of them 🙂

Katie will be in touch with everyone who placed a deposit, before the season is out. If you need any more info, drop steve@koptalk.com an email.
– – – – – – –

“Another site”? This one? Or another LFC site? “Mouthing off”? What could they possibly be saying about the book we’ve all been waiting for (a long time waiting too)? What’s funniest about this post from Oldham is that once upon a time he’d say something like “BANG, the same day about 20 more orders came in so they’re helping out which is pretty decent of them” and someone would believe him! How stupid does it make him look?

Oh hang on! Maybe it’s aimed at the blog. He’s trying to trick us into not mentioning his crappy book by saying that every time we mention it he gets more orders. Dunk – you’ve not had an order for that book in two years I reckon. We all know you’ve not even written the words “Anfield Exposed, Chapter 1” into a Word document yet never mind write enough for a book. We all know that it’s safer for you to publish your lies on the web than in print. It’s a fantasy Dunk, you’ll never get to finish the book that slags off the team you only pretend to support.

Talking of legal action, it seems Oldham is now well aware that he’s being watched. Take this thread as an example (ignore him criticising his members for not having Sky HD, stupid really considering most of them signed up for his site due to his imaginary free live football promise)….

He really did say that. Legal implications! Yet he’s ready to put a book into WH Smiths containing all kinds of wild claims about Liverpool Football Club (mostly from the Houllier era too it has to be said). You couldn’t make this up. You couldn’t make a character more stupid than Dunk.

I don’t know the thread that was being discussed here, but it seems to be a typical Koptalk scenario of an “insider” posting something he’d just made up. I think the insider in this case was called “Zico”. I don’t think, for once, it’s one of Oldham’s aliases, just one of Dunk’s dafter members. He could be on a wind-up to see how many people fall for what he says, knowing that Oldham will happily support him if it’s getting some activity. He could actually just be trying to get some new friends by pretending to know things. Either way, after a while it seemed that the original thread was closed as “Zico” was pushed to put some meat on those bones of his made-up tale. Dunk had to come to the rescuer of his fellow bullshitter…

Loc: Leeds And so the ‘Thank you Mr Moores’ thread gets deleted.

‘It was getting abusive towards the original poster so the thread was deleted’

That’s great. If I just started writing cryptic topics and then letting the audience guess whether I’m talking non-sense or not and NOT have them question my motives and/or posting, I’d be quite taken aback. Isn’t this what a forum is all about? Freedom of speech, questioning, isn’t that what LIFE is all about? It’s like on news channels here, censored and better watch out what’s said and not. Don’t want to upset the big guy…

I’m sorry, but this forum just doesn’t seem to have any appeal anymore. WE might as well all just keep on stirring on about who to play in the next game and why Gonzalez is shít. Talk the easy stuff, just like news channels. Just to make sure no one has a clue.

We all pay pump good money into this forum and I find the lack of democracy on here unfair towards those who do question.

End of rant.

PS:
I don’t expect this post to be seen by more than 10 people before it’s gone, reason being ‘Please send a support ticket if you’re unhappy with something, don’t put it out in the public’. Isn’t that why lots of people left?

There we go.

Loc: Leeds It’s not about that.

With all due respect, posting cryptic shíte with no solid argumentation and/or basis for some time would obviously (considering there’s approximately ten thousand members on here) result in a few old hatters getting a bit upset.

What is the point of posting something which basically says [oops] all? We’ve all been reading news articles on the investment front for months. And then not even having the decency (considering he had a whole day as you mentioned) to reply to all the posters who are gagging for at least some more information? Not too much to ask. I find it arrogant and boring.

Isn’t it always strange how those ‘supposedly’ in the know can never mention more than a shade of blurry information and those who aren’t ‘insiders’ wouldn’t give a toss about not posting most if not all of what they know? Why bother posting at all? It makes a pathetic mockery of ‘debate’. This is how meaningless threads start and you trawl through pages of mash to find out you’re no smarter than some lazy-arse journalist who just rehashes old info to fill his space.

What I find weird is how some people – LFC fans nonetheless – wouldn’t share their info to fellow reds.
Maybe it’s because in real life people wouldn’t be gagging for the info, you’d tell them, you’d have a short debate and then that’s it. But on here, it just goes ON AND ON AND ON AND ON and at the end, there hasn’t even been any info told. Just all guess-work and shíte.

I’m glad I’ve lived a life and still do where there are thousands of people sharing with me new wisdom, every day, and sharing it with lots of other people. Knowledge is power. Some people like to use that power in a wrong way.

Anyways, I’m off to bed.

HA HA… well slipped in

I can only comment on what everyone else is saying/hearing/reading. My sources who have been involved in the investment (or lack of it) process are all quiet.

The stuff we’ve all been reading sounds credible enough to me (depending which reports you’ve followed). So, because of that you feel confident that something is brewing. However, the AGM isn’t a million miles away and this stuff has been known to crop up around now.

At the last AGM we had the breaking interview on Sky Sports News claiming that we were close to overseas investment “New bidders enter race for LFC” etc.

I want to believe the things I’m hearing etc but I’m personally ignoring it as it’s the most boring and frustrating topic associated to the club.

Loc: UK I agree with you to an extent but there’s no clause where any contributor has to post something just to satisfy someone else. He simply passed a comment and because everyone’s desperate it ignited interest.

Even though it may be frustrating, it does not give anyone the right to be abusive and that rule will never change here. Some people want to throw their weight around, moderators don’t. It makes no odds to me what he said as I just passed it by but I won’t allow anyone to be abused whether I support their views or not.

PS: Your thread wasn’t deleted. Only the kiddy threads get deleted.

I fully agree with that. But as you just mentioned yourself, investment = most boring topic. And it just sends people a bit over the edge when they hear the same old same old with no solid foundations.

And I agree with your last line about respect. I find it disrespectful to fellow members if you totally ignore their questions. Normally people would dismiss the topic no problem. But when someone claims and has been claiming to be in the know, you would expect people to question more deeper and want more information (considering there was next to none posted). And the resulting lack of any reply at all made people a bit uptight.

Doesn’t excuse it, but it sheds light onto why – even old hatters – got uptight. ‘And the boy cried wolf’ and all that…

ico, I would rate him one of the more reliable contributers to the site, but it is becoming more and more the norm on here that if you dont have names, dates and pictures of the story that you are commenting on, you are called a liar etc.

I know this at 1st hand as I was the one that posted when Dirk Kuyt told me that he was signing and I got the same muppets passing stupid comments on it about me bullshitting them. They were no place to be seen when he signed the following day!!

My rant would be to those passing those comments.. “If you hace fcuk all good to say, well then say nothing”

Zico, Johnny H etc are the reason that I joined this site, not the clowns who shout anybody down when they post what they believe is genuine news.

Loc: DUBLIN have to admit dunk,i was kinda disappointed myself when the thread was deleted.
unless i missed a whole load of abusive posts which i don’t think i did,all i saw was a couple of posts claiming zico was only stroking his own ego by leaving such messages, hardly abusive tbh.
in fact the last post which i actually replied to but it never even made it to the thread was about how the club might lose its identity if we sold up to a sugar daddy, nothing at all to do with zico.
as i said at the top of the post,if there was a load of abusive posts that i didn’t see well then you’d every right to pull the thread.
but it was actually an interesting thread that got people talking, and im sure zico would have checked into the thread at some point for an update or to answer those that questioned him.
maybe the better option would have been to delete the abusive posts rather than the whole thread.

Loc: Abergavenny, Wales Dunk, what you say is fair but wouldn’t it be more beneficial to just delete the posts that are abusive instead of the whole topic? I’m an admin on a forum as well (albeit one a fraction of the size of this one) and when posts start to get out of hand they tend get locked or the offensive comments removed and the members warned. When you delete posts it just looks like you’re censoring items when in fact you’re not.

It didn’t say f all. It confirmed something is going to happen very soon and that it ain’t minority investment. I was in London all yesterday on business and didn’t see the post decline into usual abuse.

I’ll say it again. It’s going to happen, and he says adios. There are three in the frame and one of the three will be selected.

This is as ‘horses mouth’ as it gets. And I don’t want the horse shot !!!!! You toilet cleaners think you can just divulge information willy nilly – you can’t !!

If people want to have a go, then that’s up to them. The abusers usually go on about it (investment) never going to happen. Well, it is going to happen. And happen in a way which was unexpected for me (IE not minority investment).

You might say what I have said has been in the papers…but the investment saga is always in the papers. I haven’t posted with definite info for a long time because nothing changed – IE the club were seeking investment. Now it has, it will be secured, he will say bye bye and it will happen soon – and it’s big money – bigger than I was thinking.

If it doesn’t happen pre Christmas, then you can have a go !! I really don’t care !!

Posts: 25837 It won’t happen again. Next time the offending posts will be pulled and the offenders culled.

So there you have it. What can you draw from that thread alone? It ends with the Duncan Oldham threat of “offenders” being “culled” if they dare to have a go at any of the bullshitters. On a site where Oldham claims he doesn’t ban anyone, they ban themselves. Tit. How stupid is he? He contradicts himself on a daily basis. Should start taking some notes Duncan, you might remember all your lies then. And the lad who keeps saying “Kia Ora” is meant to be a decent Red – so someone ought to try and email him and let him know what he’s part of. No decent Red wants to be a part of such a site.

Trouble is, to email him you need to already have his email address. Remember past promises of bringing back the features found on most forums frequented by adults? Like being able to send PMs? Well you can’t even view a member’s details now on the dictator’s site. One thing I know a lot of members would have done in the past is to find a member that they felt might be “in the know” about things, then look at their posting history. You can’t now, Oldham has disabled it.

He’s also hidden things like the count of how many members are online, and highest number ever etc. Or at least he thought he had. At 10.15 today there were 94 members online. Way short of the thousands that Oldham often claims he has. I’d say that 10.15 on a weekday matchday was pretty much a peak time. 94 members does not match with the claims of “thousands”.

What he has brought back is the ShiteBox. Seems that this is Dunk’s new way of helping to make stuff up….

  3. rupertinsider Says:

I saw the “zico” thread start. Essentially it was started by his three-liner that said that investors were interested and there should be a deal by Christmas and then he gave a name three or four times in caps – perhaps the name of a firm? It was clearly intended to be a teaser in the tradition of KT “insider” teasers – in other words an attempt to mislead people into thinking the poster had inside information too hot to explain – and designed to create traffic on the site. I wondered if it was one of Oldham’s new pseudonyms – since all his old ones have been busted by this blog. But the fact the guy gave the name suggested not. Oldham never gives verifiable specifics.
The first reactions on the thread were mild enough – people pointing out that the papers had been full of stories about the identity of investors for the past three or four days – so what was new? In fact there was a major Daily Mail story that morning discussing the investments – it was carried by all the LFC sites and even Oldham came puffing along behind with his version.
The only gullible poster I saw (or co-conspirator) was Disco. Even he pointed out that the story was already in the papers and then in his usual daft manner, he attempted to give credibility to the KT “sauce” by asking zico if his dates coincided with those stories.
One or two began to question zico’s motive for posting such vague stuff copied from the press and then not responding to comments. I did not see anything abusive. I stopped reading at that point.
It looks to me that the skeptics got too close to the bone – everything they were saying applied equally to Oldham’s stories – those he steals from other sites and those he puts into the mouths of pseudonyms. Maybe that’s why he deleted the thread.

On the subject of his new 20 orders for his phantom book – every time he opens his mouth he puts his foot in it. The blog has been doing him a favour by causing people to cancel their orders – thereby getting Oldham off the legal hook. I know his site is being actively monitored by Trading Standards so now they have evidence that he continues to sell reservations for his phantom book and takes in money for it. (Not that I believe he does).

On the subject of his site design – it is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Most of the early comments on his site from his own users were to the effect that people did not like the changes. I wonder how long the shout box will last if people use it to mention the blog or other grievances as they did today. About as long as the last one. In fact, the comments on KT about the shout box being a “new feature” indicate that most of his existing members are new since the summer who don’t know about the history of the site and don’t know that there was shout box on it as recently as September.

    Runar
    Koptalk is not our “competition”.
We do not claim to be a web site with forums, news services, shops and all the rest. We do not require registration. We do not carry advertisements or take subscriptions or any form of revenue or subsidy. There is no income – direct or indirect.
We are very positive about all LFC sites except KT. We do what we can to direct traffic to the other sites.
We assume that readers who have left Koptalk, partially as a result of this blog’s analysis, will want to move unto other things. We are not here to entertain former members of KT. Although many former member support the aims of the blog and contribute to it. We continue to direct our blog at those who use KT or those who are considering using it because they are unaware of its history.
The blog must be the only site designed to put itself out of business. That will happen when and if KT ceases to exist.
If you don’t know why, I suggest you go to the top of the page and read “1. About Us” and “2. Blog v Koptalk.”

Thats not even a new theme Rupert or II (not sure who posted the article) he’s just stuck a portal onto the crappy UBB software.

  6. rupertinsider Says:

II posted the article, not me. I sign all my articles at the top.

I really, really hope this book does get released. Sounds like it will be hilarious – unintentionally of course

  8. rupertinsider Says:

    chapeau

I agree. It will be hilarious.

But he will be in a quandry. On the one hand the theme of the book will be how he triumphed against his enemies – “the suits” at LFC – to become the most successful site owner in the world – on the other hand he will be trying to convince everyone that it’s not worth their while suing him because he is judgment proof i.e. he doesnt’ have any money to pay their legal costs let alone damages.

He’s already put the house in his wife’s name.

But the first one in with a an action might be lucky if they get to seize his Mercedes (assuming its paid for) and his equipment and garnish all the income from his site – if its’ still going. In fact, a legal suit based on the book would be a good way of seeing him off – even if the plaintiff did not have any expectations of collecting. The cost of defending himself will do him in.

can the koptalk site not be hacked into and ‘defaced’?

  10. rupertinsider Says:

One of his unintentional hilarious moments today.

    He has a thread :

“Photos of the lad training at Melwood today (Tuesday) ahead of the Champions League clash against PSV.”

    The entire page was blank.

  11. SteveO Says:

Not sure what, but something in this thread reminded me to tell the thick obese geordie that he ought to be thinking about wriggling out of his story about a second man following the resignation of Noel White.

    Remember…

“There’s also another board member who could be chopped as a result. More on this later.”

Come on Dunk time to make something up, I am sure some KTer will be offering you a reminder shortly on your shite – so here is some advanced notice.

  12. rupertinsider Says:

Finally – a sport in which Oldham can compete. Will he take the vegetarian option?

  13. zico's dad Says:

my lad zico is a silly little boy.

any fool knows there are several bidders for lfc and the news that a deal is close has been in the papers for weeks.

I have explained to him that its not big and clever to pretend to have inside information and will be withholding his pocket money for the next 2 weeks.

I can only apologise on behalf of our family and in mittigation say that his bed-wetting problem has made him very tired and emotional over the last few weeks.

i will aim to ensure it doesnt happen again.
