The Sun comes up yet again at Koptalk HQ

What do you think? Can Dunk stop those ads from The S*n or are they really this hard to bring to a stop? More started to appear this morning. This isn’t the first time in the past few days that he’s been running ads for The S*n on his site either. This isn’t the first time he’s had to stop them.

As all Reds know, apart perhaps from a small minority of mainly overseas-based Reds, The Sun newspaper is boycotted. We do not buy it, we do not read it, we not visit its website, we do not collect its vouchers for school computers. Liverpool-supporting newsagents who stock it do so because of pressure from their distributors – it’s a case of either take that rag or lose out on taking any of the others. For new readers of this blog, Duncan Oldham is the owner of a so-called Liverpool FC fan-site called Koptalk.coN. He buys The S*n, he reads it, he visits its website (and takes its stories) and has used the need to collect the vouchers for his daughter’s school as an excuse for buying the rag in the past. Now he’s running ads to promote his favourite “newspaper”, against the wishes of Liverpool supporters.

Here’s a thread from this morning when another of his members saw the ads had returned…

“Q: How can I be sure that all the ads ValueClick Media will run on my site are appropriate?
A: All the ads that are available to run across your website will appear in your account. Once there, you have the option to include or exclude any of the campaigns of existing advertisers. We have provided tools to automatically filter out and/or notify you of any campaigns that do not match your requirements.”

I hate to point this out on a site that needs its advertisers, but if you use Firefox, you can add R.I.P. (Remove It Permanently). This add on is a script which strips out parts of table-designed pages every time they load. Dead simple to use and very effective. So you never need to look at any of the ads.

And while I’d hate to see The Sun advertised on KT, I don’t care enough about anything else to make it worth KT staffers worrying about it.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I’ve no idea if any of the above are aware of this blog and so in turn already know about Dunk’s pathetic anti-Red attitudes, particularly in relation to The S*n. What I do know is that they aren’t the only ones disgusted by Oldham’s attempts to have fun over this emotive issue. Perhaps they don’t realise that having fun is now Dunk’s main motivation in ignoring the boycott of The S*n.

It’s still possible that Duncan is promoting The S*n through these ads purely for the chance to make money. Possible, but unlikely. His main motivation is more sinister than that really. He wants to have a big laugh at the expense of as many Reds fans as possible.

If you’ve ever listened to one of his Podgecasts you’ll know how he actually looks even worse than he sounds. He’s odious, in many ways. So read his response to those complaining about The S*n adverts, but read it with his Podgecast voice in mind…

What advert? I assume it’s a Google ad on koptalk.com? You need to click on it and then tell me the URL (web address) it takes you to, then we can block it.

Google ads are suuplied by keywords so if you had a page with the words ‘Arsenal’ in for example, it would display ads relevant to Arsenal.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

He knows damn well “what advert” they are talking about. As we’ve said before, he’s a crap liar despite all the practice, and that crapness extends to his acting skills. He’s thick, yet he’s crap at acting thick. If you look at his reply you’ll notice how he even wants you to click the ad before reporting it. In other words, make him a few more pennies first. Don’t do it. If you ever do want to report an ad to anyone and you don’t want the site owner to get any money from it, just right-click on the link, then copy the URL. In fact if you click the URL you won’t always get the URL that relates to the ad, as often there are a couple of redirects involved between the ad and the target site. In the case of Koptalk you’re better spending your time clicking the “Ads by Goooooogle” link at the top of an ad block and report Koptalk to Google.

A couple of minutes later and the act continues. In his best pantomime dame performance he “suddenly” realises what they mean. All of a sudden he realises, he says, that the mean The S*n. He thought they meant Manchester United, he says…

Ah scum as in The Sun, not scum as in Man U. Could you tell me where it is please.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

BULLSHIT once again Koptalk. Why would someone list the names of the ninety-six if they were complaining about an advert for Man United? Why? Can anyone reading this, including those Tiscali users with names starting “G”, explain how on earth there could be a link?

That’s Oldham’s problem. He’s unbelievably thick. He’s tried to stage a stunt but ended up looking a cupid stunt.

Now he carries on, still in pantomime dame mode, as though he’s puzzled by the appearance of the ads…

This is the competitive ad filer in Google ads and the sites we already have blocked:

thes*n.co.uk (My editing of that url, Oldham left the “u” in. As you’d expect.)
abbey.com
everything-financial.co.uk
searching4finance.co.uk
shopping.net

The Sun is obviously blocked, the others have carried ads for Man U, Arsenal credit cards etc I think.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The trouble is, thicko, we already know that you know we aren’t talking about Google Ads. We are talking about your other ads. We aren’t as dopey as you.

Most readers of this blog don’t get to see your ads if they do visit your site because they’ve long since installed pop-up blockers. They did this to avoid the spyware infested ads you used to run. Those pop-up blockers sometimes include ad-blocking software which refuses to allow many of your banner ads through, because those banners are often accompanied by the pop-ups.

Twenty minutes later and a member bites…

I don’t know, I haven’t seen it. What size is the ad? Where is it appearing?
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

You know where it’s appearing. You’ve not got that many providers of ads now. You’ve already, supposedly, taken action to stop these ads in recent days. If you weren’t playing this game with the feelings of all Liverpool supporters you’d have already ensured they couldn’t reappear. Then again, you are thick, so maybe you’d have missed something, perhaps a “.com” rather than “.co.uk” address. Still, even allowing that, as soon as the words “The S*n” were mentioned you’d have gone into the control panels for ALL of your ad providers to ensure that nothing was sneaking through.

But, thick as you are, you knew where these ads were coming from. Short of much attention from your few remaining members you wanted some more from us…

Where is this ad?! Is it on screen, or a pop-up?

I can’t see anything.

I’ll just pause for a quick wave to Disco – *waves to Disco* – before looking at the next reply from the odious conman.

So what does Oldham say in reply? Well the subject may change from thread to thread, but bullshit is never far away where Duncan Oldham is concerned…

I agree but unless people report offending ads, there’s nothing we can do. If someone notices something like this, they should tell us and we will disable it/them. Right now nobody is providing any form of help to locate the actual ad(s).

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Is it even worth bothering to comment on that bullshit from Oldham? How many advertising services are there?

To most Reds and many non-Reds (as we’ve seen on here in recent days) this love-in with The S*n is highly offensive. Duncan Oldham knows what he’s doing. He thinks he knows best (as he often tries to tell us). If he had a drop of intelligence he’d probably be able to disguise his “evil plan” a little better. But as we keep saying, he’s not intelligent. His mum must be so proud of what she’s brought up.

Dunk’s playing a game with his members. So, for the game to go on, someone has to give him the next clue. Over to “ste” (not to be confused with ST3.)

Down the right or at the top? Is it a 468×60 banner?
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The only ads on the right-hand side of Oldham’s Koptalk.coN site are from Google and one that doesn’t go through an agency or ad company, it goes direct to the advertiser, 32Red poker. So it can’t be anything other than a banner at the top of the page. And those of his visitors who don’t put ads on websites themselves probably won’t have a clue what a “468×60” banner is. (It’s the dimensions in pixels of the ads if you were wondering). Why pretend? Because he’s playing a game with the emotions of those few members who’ve dared to question his twatty ways.

So, adjusting his wig, he waits for another five minutes. Nobody bites, so he pretends to have worked out all by himself where the ad was from. Wow! He’s so clever. I bet nobody could tell he was pretending to be in the dark…

Found it. It’s Fastclick/Valueclick. It’s generated 13 cents in revenue – what’s that about 6p? I’ve disabled it and will ask the advertising agency to refund them.

In future, can people report such findings to us because as has been shown today, once found, they can be easily disabled.

Publishers are not consulted when new advertisers are added. Only once the ads are appearing can anything be done to block them.

What I’ll probably do is ditch all the ads from these agencies and just ad our own. Much easier.

Now that the ads are disabled, it can take an hour or so to block them out.

Job well done. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Duncan Oldham. You are anti-Red piece of shit. You and your few remaining hangers-on deserve all you get. I’m not including those who are ignorant to what Oldham’s been doing, I’m not including those who are just a little slow on the uptake due to a supremely trusting nature. I am including Dunk’s fellow con-artists, such as the one who sells fake slimming pills…

I refreshed loads of times and never saw it. The only way I found it was by going into the admin panel at Fastclick/Valueclick. Tis disabled now. Easy when people actually report such to us rather than b*tching about it elsewhere as we don’t get to know.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

So, your visitors – paying visitors remember – are upset to see that a site they are members of is advertising The S*n. The site is promoting a publication that no Liverpool site would ever promote. Perhaps they’ve not yet worked out the truth about Koptalk, but they soon will. And referring to them reporting their concerns, their upset, as “bitching” will ensure they find out sooner or later all about Koptalk. And all about the piece of scum that runs it.

Some are beyond help…

We would never carry these ads or other ads that would offend. When they’re added though we don’t know unless people bring it to our attention as we no longer surf koptalk.com as we’re always on here. We’ll disable any annoying ads if people tell us.

Obviously some people want to score brownie points using the lives of 96 innocent Reds but I’d expect that from some of the plebs out there. Look how quick it was to resolve it once someone actually brought it to us.

Job well done. Thanks for the info.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

You are making this very easy for us you know Oldham. You say you know best, yet you clearly know very little. Read again what you said there about scoring brownie points when we’ve shown how you knew damn well what you were doing.

Campaign selections have been updated. Expect at least a one-hour delay for any changes to take effect.

Home : KopTalk.com : 728/468 Banner Media Campaigns
——————–

How long will it last this time then Dunk?

Have you stopped quoting The S*n on your stolen (from the beeb) Football Gossip updates?

Will you stop taking stories from The S*n to put onto News Now for some hits?

Will you stop visiting The S*n’s website?

Will you stop getting The S*n delivered to your home every day?

Don’t bother replying. We already know the answer. You hate Liverpool FC and all of its supporters. Now that making money from us is getting harder and harder you just want to crap on us. But we don’t like being crapped on. As you’ve been finding out this year at long last.
