Oldham knows who spilled the beans to the Mirror. Not.

Duncan Oldham has spent most of this year becoming known as arguably the most treacherous back-stabbing anti-Red pretending to be a Red that Liverpool have ever known.  This blog isn’t really the place to discuss people from the past selling stories to the S*n (although feel free to do so if you really want to) so we’ve not worked out whereabouts in the Treachery league table Oldham sits. I think he’s certainly in the Premier League of such people, given that as a club over the years we’ve not really had that many who’ve wanted to attack us yet have us think they were one of us.

Yesterday a big storm blew up from a Liverpool director who had grown tired of being second-fiddle to Oldham all year. Well maybe he didn’t do it for that reason, he seems so out of touch with reality that he probably doesn’t know what the internet is, never mind what fat former Leeds fans from Scarborough would be up to on it. He went to the Mirror’s Martin Lipton and gave the media a great big lump of ammunition to throw at our club in the hope that it will destabilise things, and no doubt in the hope also that it would be enough to turn Reds against Rafa Benitez. It backfired by the looks of it, and if anything might just act as a boost to the side after this faltering start to the season.

In the past Dunkie has tried to make out he’s got a contact on the board. So if you believe his claims then one of the six names mentioned all over the net yesterday speaks to him on a regular basis. Of course he does. So when something big like this happens, no doubt Dunk’s on the phone to him to try and find out what’s going on.

So Dunk, what can you tell us about the big story in the Mirror?

I’ve told you for ages that the board is split and that one Director in particular wants shot of Parry and Moores. Maybe now people will listen.

I know who the director is and I know what he wants. I also know that he hasn’t got his eye on anything that would be classed as self gain.

——————–
So at 10.14am Dunk knows who the director is, and he knows what he wants. If you’re new to this blog then I usually insert a sarcastic comment around about here about how much bullshit that actually is, but I’ve run out of comments. I can’t think of a new one. You,know, some people actually believe Oldham when he comes out with this crap!

Lecter spoke about it too. To be fair to Lecter here (after I got so much of an ear bashing earlier in the week about him) he doesn’t claim to have any inside knowledge. He gives his take on what’s going on, no doubt based on a little bit of intelligent investigation and a touch of guesswork. Like a lot of people on a lot of forums were doing yesterday. Lecter can’t possibly be as thick as Dunk, so he’s more than capable of finding out information based on what’s out there in the public domain already.

If these quotes are truely coming from LFC and it aint Noel White then its Steve Morgan and the journalist has incorrectly labelled him a director

It has all their grubby little fingerprints all over it
——————–
Well that’s pretty much how the rest of the internet world saw things. The man who also works for the FA (or did, I haven’t checked to see if he still does to be honest) is the one most people are blaming, with the former owner of Redrow being mentioned but of course, as pointed out, he’s just a shareholder, not a board member. The Koptalk forum was very similar to other forums on this issue; most of the visitors thought it would be a white Christmas, most of the readers thought he should go and shove his copy of the Mirror where the Christmas fairy gets the top of the tree shoved every year.

Remember what Dunk  said at quarter-past-ten? He said, “I know who the director is and I know what he wants.” I struggled to come up with a comment that explained with a touch of humour just how much that statement from Dunk was bullshit. I needn’t have worried. 90 minutes later he does it for me…

It will all be played down. I think you’re all way of with NW.

It has surprised me about having a go at Rafa as he can only do what the directors allow him to.

My take on it is that it’s all to do with investment. I know that some directors, especially one, has been frustrated at the offers Moores has turned down.

I would ignore the slurs on Rafa which I think is to help mask the director in question. If it was just about finance (in the press), I think he’d be identified.
——————–
So at 10.15ish, “I know who the director is and I know what he wants.”  At 11.45ish, “I think you’re all way of with NW.” You think they are all way of (sic) with Noel White? You told us you knew who it was an hour and a half ago. Brian Potter from Phoenix Nights again – “I know who you are… Who is this?” You know nothing Duncan. Nothing. You don’t even know how to lie very well. Does it not bother you how stupid you look? And I don’t mean the way you look like a weeble, I mean the way you lie yourself round in circles? You’re too thick to get away with it, but still, it gives us all a good laugh.

In another defence of Lecter, he did make a comment to ensure no other posters continued to think he was Chris Bascombe…

Fowler
#1683060 – Thu Oct 26 2006 11:16 AM
Robbie’s performance last night was a joy to watch. Out of all the strikers that have been fielded for the Reds this season, Robbie impressed me the most last night.

Dirk Kuyt has been a joy to watch since arriving but honestly, Robbie’s goal last night was vintage Fowler.

I really wish he could stay fit and injury free because I’d love to see more of him in action and I’m not one of these blind Robbie lovers. I just think he did well.

Poor opposition? Nah, Reading are above us in the league

——————–
We know you aren’t a “blind Robbie lover” Oldham. You tried to get him sacked from our club, on the back of a huge pack of lies you helped to make up about him.

Then this from “ludwig” put me in mind of when you were trying to get rid of him. Ludwig is a silver member, I thought that they’d all been “locked out” now, and forced to either upgrade themselves to gold or leave for good? Maybe it’s one who slipped Jeanette’s net, maybe it’s another alias…

Surely the revenue’s generated for this site with ad’s and subscriptions isn’t enough to pay a full time salary for Dunk et al. Or is it? Or has Dunk made a killing outsite Koptalk and maybe sold a business and is living off his profits?

How do you do it mate….

Don’t get me wrong, I’m VERY gratefull you and your staff do this as it’s a superb day-at-work killer, just wonder how you manage to live moneywise?

There is no ad revenue now as the main site koptalk.com has been scaled down, closed off. Sub revenue simply enables us to exist. Nobody – including myself – receive a wage. The key to success on the net was before the .com bubble burst when companies were throwing money all over the place, including of course KopTalk. Back then I ensured my family was taken care of and that was in pre-sub days. It remains a hobby for me.
——————–
So who pays for the Sky subscription in three different places where you claim to have them? How did you find the 200 quid (or was it more?) for that sportsman’s dinner? Who pays the money for you to upgrade your Mercedes and buy a Ka for Steve, not to mention the petrol, insurance and other running costs of both of those? You do receive a wage – just because you don’t issue it with a wage slip doesn’t mean you don’t receive a wage. There might be a small element of truth in it now though. No ad revenue any more. Less money from subs now. The end of the Koptalk “fake” shop. Hosting costs claimed to be ten grand a year for one server, in reality were probably around £100 per month tops, plus the US-based server that holds the pay-site. You’ve probably got that down to about £60 per month now all-told. And I’m pretty certain that you don’t pay for any photos you use on your site. So – overall – the few quid you’ve got left won’t cover your costs any more. Trouble is, it doesn’t change history – you used to be making quite a good living out of Koptalk, and you need to make sure those visitors get to know all about it.

Remember “Gazami69” from the other day? Maybe we shouldn’t have attacked him after all, he does seem to be a gullible type…

Gerrard – The shirt burning episode
#1683173 – Thu Oct 26 2006 12:39 PM
Just had someone tell me that it was all set-up by SKY TV.

Apparently a reporter egged a young lad on, telling him ‘go on, you’ll be on the telly’.

Is this so, has anybody else heard this story?

If its true, would you consider boycotting SKY TV etc?

What do you think?

This was news to me, we were just talking about the current ‘rumour’ and he mentioned this story. You’re right it wouldn’be possible to boycott them, but journalism stinks, the stuff they do to get a reaction or story is beyond belief.  (Yes – ask Dunk about that one. Ask him how much he was offered for the dirt he sold to the papers about Fowler when Houllier was still boss. Ask him what this book is all about – you’ve heard of his book right? “Anfield Exposed” where he claims to have all kinds of dirt on Liverpool players and officials dating back years? It’s out soon, he claims. Also, if he’s in the mood to talk, ask him what this Crouch tape from the S*n was that he claimed he had. There’s a load more, but they should get you started. And if you do ask him, don’t be surprised if you are banned without an answer. I bet you won’t.)

Yeh it was set-up. But no, I wouldn’t boycott Sky because of one clown that worked for them.
(You won’t boycott The S*n though will you? Despite their front page lies about what happened at Hillsborough which they still haven’t apologised for, 17 years later.)

Talk of boycotts upset Duncan.
That’s it for today, no doubt we’ll have some more Dunkisms to feast on over the next few days. Maybe he’ll remember he’s supposed to have been going to Malta – or maybe he’ll go to the game today!

Very funny and informative ! Saves me reading KT.

Its just as well he put a smiley in there. He would be so lucky if he had Bascombe’s access to LFC and to real LFC players. He would be so lucky if he could have got off the mark as fast as Bascombe did yesterday with such a strong, factual, and analytic response to whoever the Mirror was quoting.

  3. rupertinsider Says:

The other day Insider wrote about Needles and his resignation from KT and how other posters there rounded on him.

Needles has written a longer post on Est 1892 explaining his KT experience and why he left:

  4. dataimaginary Says:

Dunkin today has announced that he is to “retire” his season ticket because “he wants to spend more time with his family”. What kind of euphemism is this?

  5. rupertinsider Says:

You couldn’t make it up, could you?

When he said he bought it, Insider Insider wrote that he doubted he had one and challenged him to show a screen shot.

My reaction at the time was that he would sell the use of it from time to time, above face value, and make a profit on it.

( I subsequently learned from a dependable third-party that one of the third-party’s acquaintances could testify that he actually knew where Oldham’s seat(s) were).

I guess this means that (a) it is no longer profitable for him to invest good money in his pretence of being an LFC supporter and (b) that he is looking for a good offer for the ticket(s) and needs the cash. The wider significance could be that he is preparing to bolt, or ditch his site, or both.

What are the rules about selling season tickets?

Insider refers to his Newcastle season ticket. If he has one, I wonder what he has done about that?

And his LFC share – if he bought one – it was approved and registered a few weeks ago – but he will have paid for it much earlier – possibly in the summer when he was talking about it. That’s more than 3,000 quid. I wonder if it is burning hole in his pocket.?

  6. BTB Says:

Quality, his comments saying it was not NW have been disproven by NW admitting he did it and going. Got to love it, this guy knows nothing and everyone on koptalk just kisses his *** when he comes out with comments that sound stupid. To say it was all to do with investment when the article was about Rafa. Fat idiot.
