It's oh so quiet…

I have paid a few visits to Koptalk over the weekend, and I genuinely can’t believe how quiet it was. I know that the urge of many Reds this weekend was to cancel the Sunday papers and avoid the telly after Bolton’s linesman made that decision, but even so – it was quiet.

I looked on there at around teatime last night – something like 70 users online. Today, back to work day, 160 users on line on average whenever I checked at various points in the day. No wonder he’s made this demand…

Honorary Members

The Honorary Membership scheme has been scrapped as some HM’s have exploited what was supposed to be a bit of fun. Some members complained for some time that HM’s were acting as if they had a licence to do what they wanted.

No more HM’s will be awarded and any HM accounts that are not as active as they were when initially awarded will be revoked. If you are a HM and KopTalk is no longer your ‘home’, you will lose your HM status.

HM’s who interact here on a daily basis will retain their HM status.

If you’re not a regular visitor to est1892 then you might not realise that there are a couple of members there who still post on both est1892 and Koptalk. Clearly ensuring they don’t breach Koptalk’s Gestapo-inspired “Acceptable Use Orders” these members are no doubt pissing the fat man off to a point where he can’t stand it any more. I’ve got to be honest and say I’ve had no time to visit est1892 really for the last couple of weeks, so there could be more to it, but these members seem to be the ones that fatty is trying to eradicate. “If you are a HM and KopTalk is no longer your ‘home’, you will lose your HM status.” He’s frightened above all else that these members might just find a way to spread the word. In the first paragraph he claims he’s getting rid of “HM” people because of complaints from other members that the “HM”s were posting things that were upsetting the afore-mentioned other members. Bullshit of course, unless you mean that the complainant was Mr Oldham and his ma. So paragraph 1 – HMs get zapped for posting too much that upset other members. Paragraph 3 – HMs are getting zapped for not posting enough, i.e. EVERY DAY!

Dunk can’t win on this one. Without the posts that come from Honorary Members each day his site dies out. Let them stay as Honorary Members though and they don’t pay – and as he’s got less than 200 members left that’s going to hurt. Let them stay if they know all about this blog and other sites and he’s taking the chance they’ll blab to the few members who don’t know about this blog and other sites. Bin the Honorary Members, keep the Honorary Members – which is the lesser of the two evils?

Some of the funniest moments of this summer were moments like this when the overweight liar lied himself into a knot. When he does it in consecutive paragraphs it’s even funnier.

Obviously fatty doesn’t ever stick to his word, he’s a serial liar and probably can’t remember how to just be straight with people. So he’ll go back on his word on this “post daily” rule too, which is a shame. You see those “HM”s post a hell of a lot of stuff on his site, they are the ones who get things moving, get topics underway. Will he bin any who take a couple of days off work and so in turn don’t post on Koptalk? I hope so, because that might just be the last straw on that creaking camel’s back. Take “Johnny H” for instance. Honorary member, at one time believed to have “inside” knowledge although that’s since been thrown into doubt, and of course consumer advice spokesperson. Without him Koptalk will lose a big poster, one of the few that remain. Has “Johnny H” already found out the truth about Oldham? Or is he just one of those gullible people you meet in life who just trust everyone to be honest? Well he likes Derek Acorah…

Derek Acorah
#1661900 – Mon Oct 02 2006 12:28 PM Reply Quote

Went to see ‘medium’ Derek Acorah at the weekend.

He was a bit hit and miss, mostly hits I have to add.
And if you can trust that there were no ‘set-ups’ in the audience I think he did very well.

What does anyone else think?

Acorah, to those who have been spared his “work” is a medium. One who was seemingly outed as a fake on the “Most Haunted” programme he was once a part of. He also claims to have been on the books at Anfield, in Shankly’s day, but I’m sure he tripped himself up one time when he was talking about it. If I’m being very, very kind, I’ll say that Acorah might be able to pick things up from “the other side” (not Everton), but that he can’t pick them up live, on demand, on satellite TV. As such he has to make some bits up just to make sure there’s some content for his programmes. That’s a lot like Oldham, who we’ve also compared to Russel Grant before now. Acorah isn’t fat though. And why I’m being kind to Acorah I really don’t know – anyone who’s seen him acting like he’s just been “possessed” will know why I say that. He sounds like Paul O’Grady on drugs when he starts. Like Koptalk, it’s unintentionally hilarious.

It does say a lot though about why “Johnny H” is still an active member of the Koptalk Members site if he so readily believes in Acorah. How many other members have been just as gullible over the years?

Talking of the other side, over on the other side of the world is another gullible member of Koptalk. “LPLFC1892” is living in New Zealand, and he follows every one of Dunk’s words as if Oldham is a fine trustworthy Liverpool fan. We know he’s not of course. Also does anyone know why “LPLFC1892” keeps talking about a particular brand of orange cordial?

KOPTALK will be on TV in New Zealand next week.
#1661785 – Mon Oct 02 2006 10:13 AM Reply Quote

Kia ora

In New Zealand we have three major TV news provodors, today I was interviewed by the first, over the next four days I have interviews scheduled with the other two.

I have made sure that today my koptalk badge was clearly visable on my suit lapel, and it will be for the next two interviews. Also wearing my Liverpool FC tie.

Thanks for the badge guys

Dave A
Post Extras:

I’ve no idea what it is that Dave A / LPLFC1892 does for a living that gets him on the news, but he really will be red in the face when he eventually learns that he’s been promoting the anti-Red Oldham, he who makes jokes about sleeping with 12-year-old girls.

Talking of TV – check this out…

It’s Steve with the latest laughable attempt at content from Oldham. It’s actually not as bad as you’d think, but I really don’t know how Steve kept his face straight for the bit where he mentions “Koptalk sources” talking to scouts. Maybe Steve believes in Derek Acorah too…

Finally, an example again of Dunk’s bullshit. Look at this from last week…

Galatasaray (H) – Provisional Squad
#1656966 – Wed Sep 27 2006 11:11 AM
Reply to this post Reply

According to sources at Melwood, the squad for this evening’s game against Galatasaray will be as follows, bar any injury problems picked up today:

Reina, Dudek, Finnan, Agger, Aurelio, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Gerrard, Garcia, Zenden, Gonzalez, Pennant, Sissoko, Alonso, Kuyt, Crouch, Bellamy.

It’s another bit of unintended comedy from Oldham, and it’s only right that we extend the audience it gets into triple figures at least.

And that’s about it. Not only is it quiet on Koptalk in terms of users, it’s quiet in terms of very much actually happening. It’s oh so quiet…

Footnote: I wrote this Mondy evening UK time, but set it not to appear until lunchtime Tuesday so that you could comment on Rupert Insider’s last post on what happens next.

That kraptalk news video is brilliant. What a fucking riot. Ripping off other news sites, claiming they have insider sources. What a krock.

So what was the sheet of paper for since he was reading everything off a board held up by Fatty?

The curious will look (I did) but who would look twice at a gormless idiot reading newswires stories which were already a day old?

Oldham is spending his last days showing he still has control over his idiot half-brother. Talk about twiddling thumbs!

Factoid: So far today (17.14) the blog has received 36 visits from people using the term “Nabil El Zhar” as the key word. Top that Oldham!

Kia ora is a maori word that means both hello and goodbye. Unfortunately for HMs it’s going to mean more of the latter than the former.

There is something big waiting in the wings from Fatty Twatty im sure of it. There is no way he is going to allow his cash flow dry up. Im expecting something drastic (if shutting down his free forums wasnt drastic enough) from him in the next month or two because there is no chance he can sustain his lifestyle (maccys, burger king, greggs, local chippy) on the amount of users he has left.

Things are just beginging to hot up!!!

Dave A is as sound a scouser as you ll ever meet, and his reasons for staying on KT are his business – he can make his own decisions about where he posts, and it does not warrant being targeted or referred to as gullible.

Deviating in this manner discredits your prime objective in the eyes of some.

  12. univofchicago Says:

Oldham’s new demands were partly triggered by ANOTHER goodbye thread from a Koptalk member:

“Been meaning to do it for a while but i may aswell do it now, when no one is online.
Anyway it has changed alot round these here parts in the past few months, all of the ‘old school’ which i was kind of part of have gone, for diffrent reasons each of them.
But i used to look forward to coming on here and speaking to people such as (Swiss,Ket,Hollow,Yogi,Mumsa,RedHot,SG17,Hollow,Vi enna,Mikek,Kia Oea Dave,Pubs etc etc) But alas it isnt as vibrant on here with all my friends on here anymore. It really was (and still is) a great community, i used to come on here with any problems i had and post it and low and behold someone would know the answer or point me in the right direction, really was grwat with stuff like that, i met some really nice genuine caring people on here (Swiss,SG,Mumsa,Mikek) Where are very kind to me and where probably most of the reason why i come on here so i could speak to them andhave a laugh with them, i shared the best moment of my life with 2 of them in Istanbul, crying in the South stand of the ataturk.

I have found myself not posting hardly any more only because i felt ‘the need to’ not in any real meaning or banter as i used to have on here with the ‘regulars’ and friends on here.

Anyway i am rambling on aload of crap here, as you probably know (or dont) i was never the best with grammar or spelling etc so i will cut it short because i cant write anything good, id also like to thanks Dunk and Ste etc who made me Honanrary member and i hope i contributed to the site in some sort of fumbled way, just a bit sad to be leaving but it just isnt the same. Anyone wants to contact me here is my myspace, just get my email off there or message me, my email is my username with anyway.”

    Dark Knight

We’ve had this debate two or three times before – whether the blog should “target” KT users as well as Oldham and his family.

Frankly, I’ve been in a minority in believing we should talk about and criticise and even lampoon the KT users. KT could not exist without them.

It’s true that some of them, especially those from overseas, don’t know that KT is a dishonest site, but some of them do.

In fact, I think we should criticise them more than we do – especially those who are in the EST1892 camp and yet still support KT with their visits and their posts mainly because they have already paid their membership. Surely its not just about money – there are principles involved?

Of course some of them still visit KT to undermine it and inform its members of alternatives. I just hope they all remember to cancel their automatic renewals.

A small number of ex-cultists from KT conduct little campaigns for KT – including anti-blog campaigns – on other sites. I don’t think they are pro-Oldham exactly. It’s just that they want to limit the criticism of KT because they are embarrassed by their former involvement in it – in other words they are still trying to rationalise it. One of their techniques for doing this is to say “a plague on both your houses” that the blog or the critics on EST1892 are over-critical or sad or obsessive. Actually, the blog is detached, clear minded, balanced and insufferably correct. Sorry!

Some of the newer Koptalk users, especially those from overseas, have no idea what they have wandered into and assume that all Oldham’s claims are true. They act in good faith. Because they act in good faith they usually welcome information. When they learn about Oldham and KT, they usually leave it. That’s precisely why Oldham does not want them to know about this blog or the other sites where posters expose Koptalk. That’s why he has closed the doors, battened down the hatches and continues to expel anyone who is not an ultra-loyalist.
I lampooned some users on the KT free forum three months ago and got criticised for it on here – but the net effect was that all those I lampooned left KT and started another site. I’m not saying the lampooning was directly responsible, but it didn’t hurt. You could say it heightened their need to consider their position. Lampooning KT users draws them out of the closed KT cult into the wider world where they can hear the questions and discuss issues without fear of censorship from “Dunk knows best”.

And Insider Insider had a go at a guy who was providing KT with one of its most popular features – the downloading of post-match videos. The poster resisted our attempts to overload his server by syphoning his feeds – but within a couple of weeks or so he left KT, having done some considerable damage to the KT membership in the process.

As for Insider Insider ‘s comments on Dave and your response:

You have offered a testimonial about Dave being a good scouser – but why should we accept your testimonial – who are you?

And what has being a good scouser got to do with anything?

As a matter of fact, Dave presented himself as a New Zealander cub pathetically seeking the approval of a fat scoutmaster from Yorkshire, who now lives in Newcastle. His post was all about wearing badges.

When I read Dave’s post I thought it so bizzare that it must be a leg-pull on Oldham – I hope it is. But if it isn’t then Dave ought to know just how strange it reads to those who know about Oldham and his rotten anti-LFC site.

Hopefully, if you are as close to Dave, as you would have us believe, you will pass this opinion onto him.

You’re right about one thing – Dave can make his own decision where he posts – as he has – in fact he has paid for the privilege. But that also means (a) that he is responsible for the effects of his decisions – in this case offering public televised support to a scum, anti-LFC site and (b) that just as Dave tried to manipulate the public so, too, his posts are public and open to public comment and criticism.

Tell Dave that he is trying to publicise Koptalk on new Zealand TV just as LFC is trying to disassociate from Kotpalk denying that Oldham has ever had any contact whatever with LFC and never will. Ask Dave would he prefer to support Oldham and Koptalk or LFC?

You might also want to consider that Insider Insider has a membership of Koptalk. If he attempted to comment criticially on Dave in Koptalk his membership would be cancelled within a few minutes with no refund. He would be forced to find an independent forum likie this blog to make his comment – which is precisely what he did.

    Kia Ora.

  14. darkknight Says:

Healthy sceptisim and free speech are central to this entire issue – to curb either would be self defeating for any interested party.

I ve provided an alternative view of someone that Insider Insider has chosen to highlight.

I stand by my final coment – this technique detracts from the core message.

  15. rupertinsider Says:

Insider Insider exercised on this blog the free speech he would not have been allowed on Koptalk.

Dave highlighted himself. He publicly stated that he had used his interview on one NZ TV network to promote Koptalk and intended to do the same on two other networks.

The main saving grace, in my view, is that he also tried to promote LFC by wearing the club tie. That indicates to me that Dave is a genuine LFC supporter who is unaware that LFC and KT do not have the same mission or share the same agenda – let alone that the club has disassociated from KT.

And that was Insider’s point – that Dave mistakenly believed that Oldham was a credible and trustworthy representative of the LFC, or its supporters.

I’d be grateful if you would inform Dave about the page marked at the top of this page “Summary: The Blog v KT”

  16. darkknight Says:

    quote – ‘Dave highlighted himself’

Is that like banning yourself ?

  17. univofchicago Says:

“Healthy sceptism and free speech are central to this entire issue – to curb either would be self defeating for any interested party.”

    Hi darkknight,

I can’t possibly see how Rupert’s response to your comments is an attempt to curb free speech. You made a comment that you are perfectly entitled to make. Rupert strongly disagreed and made his point known, very convincingly may I add. You are free to respond back.

There are often comments of skeptism (and accusations) on this blog, but responding to them doesn’t mean the blog is out to curb it. Isn’t that what a free speech is supposed to be?

You provided an alternative view, and you are more than welcome to do so again. Rupert doesn’t agree with you. I have to side with Rupert on this one. But I am sure they are others who agree with you.

One thing is for sure, this blog certainly won’t ban you for expressing an alternative view like a certain con-man.

  18. darkknight Says:

    Hey UofC

I didn t mean to imply that any such attempt was being made.

The statement you quote is intended to reaffirm Rupert ‘s final point in the previous post – regarding II’s right to exercise free speech.

I would nt normally engage in these issues, but for the fact Dave A is involved.

  19. John Says:

That video was THE funniest thing ever, seriously that should win an award… if there was a ceremony for the worlds suckiest tv news reporter. Geoff Shreeves, James Cooper, Nick Collins, Garth Crooks, y’all better watch your backs, there’s a new kid in town! 🙂

Well Crooksy may have to look out, the plastic tray I’m staring at would be better than him. 🙂

Seriously that was chronic. £30 for that? I wouldn’t pay 30p

  20. univofchicago Says:

“I didn’t mean to imply that any such attempt was being made. ”

    Oops…my bad…

  21. rupertinsider Says:

    “quote – ‘Dave highlighted himself’
Is that like banning yourself ? ”
Nothing like it! Dave chose to boast on a public forum about his technique for surreptitiously publicising KT on three channels of New Zealand national TV. In so doing he was currying favour from Oldham and the members of Koptalk. This was clearly “highlighting himself”. (I used your phrase “highlighting” – I would prefer to call it “congratulatory self-promotion”.)

His post was not edited or removed by Oldham. In fact it was given prominence. Furthermore Insider Insider gave it more prominence. Nobody has even suggested that Dave should be banned from Koptalk or from the blog or anywhere else. I agreed with you that he has the right to post wherever he wishes – even on Koptalk if he is prepared to pay 30 pounds and subject his posts to the arbitrary censorship of Oldham and his teenage “editor”.

In the “banning yourself” model – Oldham bans fully paid-up members without refund as well as long-standing honorary members and life-time members. He does this if they post on other sites. He also bans them if they don’t post on his site often enough and in terms he approves. He bans them if they ask questions such as “where’s your book for which you have taken deposits for more than two years”, or “where’s the Crouch S** tape which you said would ruin the players’ career if you chose to reveal it” or “where’s the money we sent you for Lauren”. He bans them if they cancel their automatic PayPal renewal even if their current membership is still in good standing. He bans them for farting and looking at him in a funny way. After that he says “they banned themselves”. And if anyone disagrees with that he bans them.

If this is all new to you and your mate Dave I suggest you read the “Summary: The Blog v KT”. You can find it in one of the tabs in the tool bar at the top of this page.

  22. Insider Insider Says:

Dark Knight – I’ve just deleted a long reply I was writing to what you’d said about it being up to Dave A if and why he stays on Koptalk. You are right of course, but if he stays there in full knowledge of what Duncan Oldham and Koptalk are really all about then he is not much of a Red, not much of a person really.

Dunk’s sick paedophile joke about his daughter’s 12 year old friends sharing a bed with him are the type of thing that would put enrage most people, Red or not. Add to that the obvious skimming of money from his disabled cousin’s collection. Some people gave hundreds to that fund, and it now looks like a big part of it bought Dunk’s plasma TVs (plural) this summer. Red or not, how could any decent human being approve of those things?

Dunk’s attempts at ending or damaging the careers of three Red strikers are the type of things that upset many Reds. Add to that his support of The S*n newspaper in blatant disregard of the long-standing boycott. Liverpool fans who care about the club and their fellow supporters hate that, without any doubt at all.

Then you get into his attempts at ripping supporters off. Whether it’s 30 quid for a site that doesn’t contain what was promised, a couple of hundred for fake “signed” merchandise or a couple of thousand for match tickets it’s all disgusting rip-off from the pockets of Liverpool fans. To some fans who’ve paid that 30 quid it’s a lot of money, never mind those who think they’ve invested in something they can treasure for years and hand down to their kids only to find they’ve got fake goods. As for the touting attempts, well…

Opinion is divided on some things. Some people think it’s OK to claim dole when bringing money in (preferably in cash) by “working” on Koptalk dawn ’til dusk. Some people think it’s ok to hide the money earned from Koptalk by using methods like asking for money to be sent through the post in cash (for a £10 discount) or by using Pay Pal to disguise your income. Then people think it’s his right to offer football feeds or goal clips that don’t belong to him in return for £30.

Even I’m not as bothered by some things as I am by others, but I think the mass exodus from his site this summer means that I’m not the only one who thinks his site is, to put it simply, very wrong.

Maybe Dave A doesn’t know about Oldham. If he does he isn’t what I’d call a decent Red or even a decent person if he thinks it’s a good idea to give a load of free positive publicity to Koptalk. It’s bad enough to keep helping Koptalk tick over like he and a few others have been doing if he knows the truth.

If he doesn’t know about the blog then let him know – because if he is a decent person then he’ll be joining all of those who left Koptalk this summer.

One more thing. My use of the word “gullible”. I’ve admitted on here myself many times that I too was gullible for a while until I saw the light about Oldham. How daft did I feel when it hit home? I’m not the only one.

  23. Giles Says:

    darkknight – seconded mate.

I’m behind the purpose of this blog, but this ‘guilt by association’ bollox is one of the times where you’ve got it wrong IMHO.

I’ve not met a better or more committed LFC fan (or indeed a nicer or more helpful guy) than Dave A, in the ‘good ol’ days’ on KT he was a pillar of a genuinely happy and enjoyable community (despite Dunk)

I might think he’s soft for staying on KT, but he doesn’t deserve the snide remarks – unrepentant KT regular or not please don’t question his commitment to LFC.

Omigod, I sound like disco 😉

  24. darkknight Says:

Cheers Giles – your remarks are appreciated.

  25. rupertinsider Says:

I’m putting Dave up for the Nobel Prize for Literature and Services to Humanity.

His unrelenting efforts to fool the National TV networks in New Zealnd into publicisng the Koptalk scam needs to be recognised.

Given Oldham’s forthcoming trip to Malta with the proceeds of his scams, perhaps Dave can prevail on him to bring back a Maltese Cross – he could wear it in his other lapel next time he appears on New Zealand TV.

If Oldham can’t find a Maltese Cross he could make one – all he need do is introduce himself as the Owner of Koptalk.
