Streaming service in decline at Koptalk

Koptalk HQ RoofIt’s been a busy day today for the blog. It’s not showing any signs of stopping either – the hits are right up, but so is the amount of stuff to post about.

Tonight sees Liverpool playing their first game since Duncan’s previous supplier of information on football streams left Koptalk. The provision of streams and highlights from games is one of the main selling points Oldham has for his Gold Club. How will he cope without his free help? He’ll have to do what many Reds will have done tonight, and use Google or other search engines to find the streams.

And without any real effort at all tonight I found information on streams, free of charge, on various websites. Dunk’s not got anything special on his site, despite his claims. Nothing worth paying £30 for anyway.

Here’s his announcement, or one of them, about what the new streaming service from Koptalk will be like.

Liverpool v FSV Mainz 05 – WATCH IT LIVE
#1588852 – Fri Aug 04 2006 05:36 PM

Liverpool fans based in Germany will be able to tune into this evening’s pre-season friendly against FSV Mainz 05 via satellite.

German channel DSF are showing the game live. This channel can also be received in the UK if you have a motorised dish and digital satellite receiver.

The transmission is free-to-air (FTA) which means no viewing card is required. German Reds can receive DSF via the Astra satellite at 19 degrees East on 12480V 27500.

You cannot receive DSF via a typical Sky Digital satellite system.

Members in the KopTalk Gold Club are reporting that the game can be watched for free via the internet. We are unable to publish this information openly as the feds will not approve due to various legalities.

* A photo of some of the antennas at KOPTALK HQ including our motorised satellite dish which we use to pull in feeds from all over the world.

The picture on this page shows Dunk’s radio antennae and his moving dish. I expect he’s got planning permission for all these things – you certainly need it for a dish over a certain size, or if you want more than one dish on your house. I’ll dig the details out some other time, but Dunk certainly used to be interested in radio scanners in the past. Try a search on Google Groups if you want to look yourself in the meantime.

So once again, Dunk says that the Koptalk Gold Club contains the information needed to watch the games for free. The legal situation isn’t as clear in this case, it’s a friendly, but Dunk’s sufficiently frightened of the consequences of providing the information to use an alias. Yep – it’s the return of “NJRED”, someone we’ve mentioned before. It’s Dunk, even trying to imply this person isn’t from the UK!

was wondering the same. dont know which link to use
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I’ve censored the actual links, because I’m not sure of the legality of me posting them on here, and let’s face it, it’s not hard to go and find the links yourself if you really want to.  As for wezo and bazza, I doubt they got any help more than the links posted by Duncan’s NJRED alias. He’s not got a clue how to use them himself, he uses his motorised dish to watch the games.

NJRED is not a prolific poster, as his full list of posts shows –

It’s all video links, links to streams, and a couple of times where Dunk forgot to log out of his NJRED account before replying to other threads.

Someone else who probably only joined the Gold Club for the access to streaming information isn’t sure what’s happened. All of the information left on the site by Red Al has gone. No sticky from Oldham though to explain.

*scratches head* Eh? What happened in here?

Apologies if it’s been explained over and over again btw.

It’s not really been explained over and over again pr0ners. I’d cancel that sub now if I were you. AND REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO ENSURE IT WON’T AUTO-BILL YOU FOR ANOTHER YEAR.

There’s still a lot of confusion over what happened –

My guess is due to the legalities of viewing TV streams over the internet, this won’t be made available on KT.

As I understand it some people grassed up what Red Al was doing here, or at least threatened him, so he asked Dunk to take the stuff off.

Sucks really, Red Al was a legend and made the lives of Liverpool fans who come here a lot better. What makes it even worse is that it was probably so-called Liverpool fans looking to do down Koptalk that were behind it.

Took 5 minutes to find a link tonight.

Didn’t work because the Chinese TV station went off air, but wouldn’t have been a problem if it was a league game

I’ve found a another useful site for getting streams – anyone wants them leave an email address. I promise not to send porn emails unless you want them.

  2. rupertinsider Says:

I see that one of KT mods, Rosco, was in the shoutbox highly recommending the following paid service for live streams. He says it costs 2 pounds a month and provided a vey good service. He had used it 7 or 8 times. Obviously, he must have thought it better than the streams provided by KT during those 7 or 8 times.

  4. rupertinsider Says:

I notice people saying that the TVAnts application brings with it a lot of spyware and otherwise interferes with a PC. Anybody else noticed? I tried to open mine today and got a emssage I should download a new version of the software.

  5. Fred Says:

Bollocks – I’m banned! Oh well – it’ll save me thirty quid.

  6. Fred Says:

Ooh – they’re incredibly fast – I’m banned from the “free” site as well! Never mind – no doubt I’ll receive more spam than usual,

  7. rupertinsider Says:

    What did you do, Fred?

  8. Fred Says:

I posted a link to this blog – oops! It didn’t last very long and had little more than zero impact, but I feel better. I’m now waiting for the additional spam.

    TheElephantMan/Ian.

  9. univofchicago Says:

    Hey ElephantMan,

At least you had fun teasing the fat man. That feedback bit was a classic.

  10. rupertinsider Says:

A Poem – “IF” by Rudyard Kipling from the KOP

It’s about Fatty and very moving (in fact I had to go three timwa on the trot after reading it).

  11. rupertinsider Says:

“That feedback bit was a classic.”

You mean all those slobbering tributes to Fatty’s wisdom, justice and truth posted on his site were a spoof made up by Elephant Man?

I’m so disappointed, and Disco is distraught.

  12. univofchicago Says:

“You mean all those slobbering tributes to Fatty’s wisdom, justice and truth posted on hi siste were a spoof made up by Elephant Man?”

That particular feedback post was meant to draw fatty’s attention; ElephantMan was being sarcastic. Fatty fell for the trap and got all excited. I thought it was hilarious…

  13. lobster Says:

erm……mind to post theelephantman feedback so i can read?

  14. sppuuddy Says:

This whole thing is crazy, i have never really had much to do with kt i clicked on it a few times but thought it was a bit dodgy and i was never tempted to pay money for lfc news. But this is shocking that for your money all you get is these links to asiaplate and the likes, last season when the bbc liverpool forum was up and running all that info and links were on the boards every single match day…ya gotta feel bit sorry for the people that paid money for info that takes about 5 minutes to find for free on the net

  15. SilentButDeadly Says:

As far as I know that site above is with the streams is free – doesn’t mention anything about charging and there was a link to last nights game (it didn’t work but that wasn’t down to the link). In fact , that page says:-

“Hi All,i Created this site to my personal Aim – To be able to see Live soccer/bastekball matches without pay even 1 cent, now you can do it with LiveFooty all the interesting sport events Are In LiveFooty For FREE !”

I don’t think TVANTS has spyware – but its not one I used last season. I’ve run all my anti spyware/virus software after loading it and nothing got picked up.

    TVANTS is available here http://download.tvants.com/pub/tvants/tvants1/win32/bin/TvantsSetup.EXE

Tips. When using the streams at http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ you need to be running internet explorer. If you click on the link to the match on the above page (having installed but not opened tvants) and then click refresh, the video is embedded in Internet explorer. Doesn’t work in Firefox.

Insider – feel free to delete these comments and send out via email if you think its a problem.

  19. univofchicago Says:

I don’t think the ElephantMan would mind so heres some more that he put up at est1892. its definately worth a look. hehe

  20. Red_Al_77 Says:

    TVAnts doesn’t use spyware.

  21. jj_sawyer Says:

al, which free streaming site would you best recommend? I’ve found a few but not sure which ones are the most reliable for LFC matches.

  22. jonymadness Says:

    Working again, thanks Tom.

I had logged on to the koptalk chat during the match & I have to say I was less than impressed (this time).

Some of the comments that were being posted were less that constructive, don’t get me wrong I know this is a site for people to give their options but I don’t see where comments like (with out having a go at anyone) “only one more mistake by him & he’ll equal Hobbs’s mistake hat trick” is an option.

Also the comments on the forum about Speedy as well, this guy has only been in the country 5 mins and people are on his back already.

I know there are high expectations associated with LFC but I think that some people need a reality check.

What you have to take into consideration is the various ages of people. Is a 44-year-old bloke going to say that or a 14-year-old kid?

I’m not saying all kids are loon and all ‘older’ Reds are sensible but it’s just about educating people to be realistic.

I’ve done this lark for years… it’ll never change mate. It’s just life.

“I’m not saying all kids are loon(s)……”

But he does say all we loons who criticise him are kids.

  32. jj_sawyer Says:

    cheers al

  33. rupertinsider Says:

txto: In Oldham-speak the blog gets several million hits a day – in truth-speak, let’s say it may have received more than his site on 5th.

The blog started with zero just over three months ago (hits from the blog’s authors are not counted) and has climbed ever since. Occasionally there are spikes, as with the Wikipedia struggle with Oldham, the Redz/Ian Cotton letter, Tom’s manifesto, the streaming issue/and two recent departures – associated with Red_Al. Ignoring those extraordinary peaks, the line connecting the lesser peaks has been a strong upward curve.

It’s not a forum, its a blog. It does not offer all the goodies and attractions of a forum. It does not advertise. All things considered, the interest has been remarkable. The blog regularly features in the WordPress top three most active of the day – and they have 250,000 blogs.
