A challenge from Wallet.

Why oh why does Dunk pick a time when I’m busy with other things to give us so much material? It’s not all his fault, but there’s so much to say. I’ll try and get as much of it on here as possible today. It’s Friday, so I suppose it’s traditional not to be doing any “work”…

Anyway, it looks like a poster called “markrobbi” has come out of his usual hiding (91 posts in 18 months means he’s no ‘Matt Biscan’). He’s done it to challenge the infamous “wallet”. I’d not be surprised to hear he’s now banned, but we’ll see…

Morning all…

over the past few months i’ve logged onto koptalk everyday and read through thousands of posts. one thing i have noticed is some so called ‘insiders’ are so obvoiusly not! sorry to doubt you as a source but the ‘wallet’i feel is clealy no more in the ‘know’ than me! i’ve noticed that all he does is repeats what Chris Bascombe states in the echo a couple of days later then take credit from everyone for being an insider! in this instance Chris stated 2 days ago that a bid for kuyt was in the pipelin for the next couple of days & surprise surprise the wallet informs us that a bid will be going in!

sorry to doubt but this really does any me!

You’re entitled to your opinion mate so I’ve no bones with what you’ve said. I would however like you to support what you’ve said with facts. I’m aware of who Chris Bascombe is but I don’t read the echo other than links that are posted here on occasion. The only journalist I really have time for is Dave Maddock of the Mirror who is on the money more often than not from what I’ve been told.

In any case I’d be very surprised if Mr Bascombe was able to quote a fee seeing as it was only approved by the Board yesterday.

You’re welcome to back up your opinion by doing a search on my posts and then comparing them to any articles you wish but I’m more than sure you’ll find the time of my posts is prior to any articles containing the same information.

Good luck with that..

As I’ve said, I’m busy today, so I’ve not got time (yet). Does anyone want to help out with the challenge set down by “wallet”? I think you are looking for more than one article, but I’ve seem to remember the following things quoted in the Echo / the Post / elsewhere.

1) Rafa has said he wants another striker (for sure).

2) It was hinted that it would be aimed for some time this week / by the end of the week.

3) The asking price for the player, still unmatched by LFC, was quoted as £10m. Liverpool were going to make another offer close to that amount.

One other thing – do the board have to approve transfer fees? I’m prepared to be told I’m wrong here, but wouldn’t there be budgets set for overall spending on transfer fees? Surely having to gather the board together for a meeting to settle the nitty gritty of every transfer fee would be too time consuming? And Dunk usually blames it all on Parry anyway.

Please – if you’ve time, after your Friday afternoon liquid lunch perhaps, get the evidence together for Mr Oldham. I mean “wallet”.

Pure Oldham. He never reads the Echo, he just sits in his Portkabin in Wallsend and steals the online edition’s stories and then claims that his “exclusives” from inside anfield,. melwood and the acadmey are confirmed by “local media”.

He has many times claimed Maddock is part of his Gold Club and that he is his mate. Maddock is not a member of his Gold Club and I recently wrote to him to tell him about Oldham’s claims. Maddock has rejected Oldham’s advances for many years.

“I’m aware of who Chris Bascombe is …………..The only journalist I really have time for is Dave Maddock…………I’d be very surprised if Mr Bascombe was able to quote a fee seeing as it was only approved by the Board yesterday.”

Pure Oldham. He adopts this post of “Bascombe who?” ever since Chris Bascombe ridiculed KT in a story but referred to it as “Kopchat” – in order to avoid giving it publicity.

As for the fee nonsense – Oldham knows full well that a clean fee is never announced – and if it were and his “wallet” aliase was proven wrong – then it can be fudged with refences to agent’s fees, staged payments, performance clauses and so on. It isa typical con man trick to direct attention to a detail to try to convince the victim.

If any media person had a clear idea of any proposed fees it would be Bascombe who is a serious and trusted reporter in Liverpool. It would not be a bent, con man in a Portakabin in Wallsend speaking with his own voice or one of his ridculous aliases.

BTW is Duncan Oldham still claming that that is not his true name as he did about five weeks ago when this blog started asking questions about whether he collects and pays VAT or pays any form of business or personal taxes?

  2. Dickster Says:

Anybody that reads that second post from ‘Wallet’ can tell it’s written in the exact same style as how Dunk writes.

What a joker – how do people *still* fall for this stuff?

  3. billybunter Says:

just wondering if anyone had a copy of bascombe’s article ‘kopchat’ it would be an interesting read

  4. rupertinsider Says:

billybunter: I think others on here remember it. It was a long time ago – possibly 4-5 years. All I remember of it is that it was more of a throwaway remark by Bascombe. He ridiculed the misinformation that Oldham was putting out about a specific issue.

The reason I remember it at all is that Oldham reacted to it very strongly, more than once. He was upset that Bascombe had deliberatley mispelled the KT name and it was he who accused Bascombe of doing it on purpose. After that he has taken every opportunity he can to deny Bascombe credit and to have a pop at him and /or to pretend he can’t remember his name or who he is. Before that incident he used to claim that he and Chris were buddies and hint that he was feeding information to Bascombe.

  5. chapeau du soleil Says:

oldham went out and bought the kopchat.com domain so he could take advantage of ANY publicity from mr Bascombe

  6. togga Says:

Surprised he’s yet to buy chrisbascombe.co.uk

  7. SilentButDeadly Says:

    he will now

  8. SteveO Says:

I guess the kopchat article appeared shortly before 14 Oct 2001

    whois kopchat.com

    Record created on 14-Oct-2001.

    Administrative Contact:
    OLDHAM, DUNCAN enquiries@koptalk.co.uk
    PO Box 145
    SCARBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE YO12 7XU

Is this a new number for the transvestite whore or have we seen it befoe? No record of it being used for wife swapping or rip off sky cards.

Love the orginal article, no doubt wallet is fatboy from the content – why would ‘wallet’ ;an ‘insider’; care about other journos reports when one is on the inside.

  9. roger Says:

I haven’t tried to take up ‘Wallets’ challenge exactly, but did notice this……

He has the following quote as his sig:
    Wallet – Koptalkinsider – 19/5/06:
“Rafa wants, Aurelio, Alves, Gonzalez, Paletta, Bellamy and Kuyt this window. Pennant is back-up option for right wing. All reports linking us to Defoe, Joaquin, Torres, Ribery, Aimar are wide fo the mark. If there is a surprise it could be Ayala!”

But just a little bit of detective work shows he only made one post on the 19th and none of the above information was contained:

    “Re: Jan Kromkamp [Re: Growler]
    #1438679 – 19/05/06 03:09 PM Reply
    Quote

I think if Rafa would want Alves for the right midfield position. Not sure he is a replacement for Kromkamp..”

Haven’t gone through every post he’s ever made, but it’s pretty obvious he making claims that just aren’t true.
