Some examples of what your (up to) thirty quid brings you

I’ve absolutely no idea about who this member of Koptalk is, “heskey8”. Joined in January 2003. Has made 37 posts in all, including this stuff in here. The best bit about this post is the other members asking Dunk why his very own gateman hasn’t been in touch. No reply from Dunk of course.

johnny h is saying its a done deal more or less, only problem is, its cash plus flo. a, flos not overly keen and b, there valuation of flo is below rafa`s. johnny h reckons this will be sorted out very quickly though.

Not happy if we’re giving them Flo as part of the deal, I’ve always fancied him to come good. If his worth is anything under £1mil as part of this deal, then someone needs their head checking.

i agree mate, would prefer a loan deal tbh. BUT, if its got to be a part-ex, i just hope we put a buy back clause in.

Something else i’m wondering is that something must have changed for us to do this deal now. Otherwise Rafa would have bought him at the start of the window rather than now. Either Rafa has given up on Alves, or he has changed his choice of striker to a cheaper option (or no option at all) and used the spare cash to get Pennant.

—————

Also I’ve just had a message from a mate, who seems to think that Pennant arrived much earlier today. He has a mate who works at the ground, so i’m wondering if our negotiations have been going on for a while, to get this deal rushed through so he can join up with the squad tomorrow.

It’s quite possible, but what concerns me is if we signed two right-sided players (and it looks like Pennant and Alves would cost a combined £15m) do we have enough to get another striker.

I’m worried as up front we look weaker than we did last year. Hopefully Juve will come to our rescue and loan us Trezeguet or Camoranesi

i understand your point, but wouldnt quite say we need rescuing. i dont think were quite as bad up front as people are making out to be honest, although we can improve in this area. we have crouch, bellamy and fowler. Buying pennant would also free garcia to play up there more often (his preferred role), kewell and gerrard can do a decent job there, plus theres neil mellor. and that young kid linfield looks like hes got a chance of being possibly a decent striker in the future

I hope he does, just to prove that you know nothing

I’m still pretty confident that we could get Alves, or someone to boost our forward line. There’s a long time left in the transfer window.

If we get Pennant for 4, plus part exchange for Flo, we’ve spent a grand total of 12mil so far. Rafa probably had a kitty consistent with the ones for the last few years – somewhere between 20-30mil. This is quite a generous amount to spend, so don’t start moaning.

18mil is a lot to play with, even on CM

If Pennant does sign, does this not mean the end for any Alves deal? I thought i read somewhere today that the deal was dead?

Roy Evans to be new Nottingham Forest Boss
#1450641 – Thu May 25 2006 05:08 PM

What do you think to this. Confirmed from the one of the former directors of Liverpool

————–

He’s not the only one though. And with so few posters left in Koptalk these days people are finding they can say much more without being shot down – no matter how dodgy their rumour sounds. I won’t explain why I personally find this rumour dodgy, but I’ll drop the hint that I doubt very much a loan deal for a player knocks very much money off a transfer fee. And before anyone asks, the reason these two member’s posts are in here is purely because there’s every chance it’s Duncan Oldham putting posts into place for later claims of success. This one’s a bit far-fetched though in its details…

Reds offer blues options
#1568983 – Tue Jul 25 2006 02:17 PM

Negociations between Liverpool and Birmingham have gathered pace. Rafa has now given Birmingham some options by agreeing to look at a player + cash offer. However, there are not many players willing to drop into championship football. Some options include Potter and Anderson (on a years loan only). However, neither make a significant enough dent in Birminghams valuation. Birmingham need at least 4m to cover their outlay. This will form the baseline for negociations. An opinion given to me from a good source close to the club suggests that 6m will be accepted. This sum has been mentioned before, probably because it makes sense but then somethings are just that simple.

Thanks to “Private_eye_2″‘s last post, I think we know which folder this prediction belongs in too…

Heard this last night. Liverpool have offered Werder Bremen €12m + Kromkamp for Klose.

Sorry nothing more…

  1. barry wom Says:

it’s all typical oldham stuff. take a rumour or two that’s kicking round, throw a bit of a different slant on it and post it as a user on the site. if it comes of he claims an exclusive, if not, it wasn’t him. you’d have thought he’d be better spending his time getting a better wig for his next “katie” photo shoot.

  2. rupertinsider Says:

There’s no great harm in all this game playing in and of itself.

    What is objectionable is that

    a) Oldham uses it to claim that he has exclusive news and whispers from anfield, melwood and the academy and then uses that reputation to support his oafish opinions

    (b) he charges for people to read it

    (c) he hides it in the gold club or insider to prevent the club or better informed supporters from analysing it, and showing it up for the gibberish it is.

  3. Tom Says:

Like I posted below, elisha from YNWA was saying pennant to sign in a day or so yesterday. That’s where this has come from.

  4. Hoff Says:

By far the most objectionable aspect of KopTalk is..

    (b) he charges for people to read it

Proof posative of Oldhams apparent megalomania is YNWA and the ex-goalkeeper with REAL insider information.

Oldham is providing nothing that cannot be found out elsewhere gratis.

  5. univofchicago Says:

Just to elaborate on Tom’s comment:
