Caboodle Comedy Central

Feeling down? Short of a laugh? Watch an Oldham squirm.

We have seen someone (or it could be more than one, I’m unsure) cause all kinds of trouble by sending emails to their fellow Insider members to inform them of this site, and Kraptalk and Duncan’s despicable ways in general. We’ve seen him lose member after member, partly because of this blog, but mostly because of his attempts to stop this blog.

He has been demanding that his users provide him with information that really he has no right to demand – phone numbers, dates of birth, addresses and all so that they can access his poorly administered forum. He’s had it pointed out to him that he’s not allowed to keep this information unless he’s appropriately registered under the rules of the data protection act.

It turns out he doesn’t need to be registered actually. Or so he says.  Dunk knows best, so he keeps telling us, and so look what he knows about that Act –

We take your privacy very, very seriously.

For each member that participates we ask you to provide certain personal information, which is for security reasons only.

We only need this information to administer your account. It is never shared with anyone else, nor is it used for marketing of any description.

We do not need to be registered with the Data Protection Act as we are exempt for two reasons:

1) Accounts and Records are exempt unless processed or obtained from a credit reference agency

but more importantly:

2) No personal data is held or stored on any computer system

If you chose to cancel your membership or if we cancel it, we destroy any information we hold on you. Such paperwork is shredded several times.

The only way for people to obtain any information about you is through your public profile. We strongly urge you not to disclose your email address or details of where you work etc.

To edit your public profile click on MY HOME above top right.

If you publish your email address on the forums you are likely to be spammed. If you wish to contact another member you can do this through us.

Well it made me laugh – very, very loudly. Where do you start. Well as one of those who sent me this pointed out, it’s not just the fact he’s made all of this nonsense up, it’s the way he’s made it up, and his reasons for making it up. HE WANTS HIS USERS TO REMOVE THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES FROM THEIR PROFILES.

He’s such a dozy slow-moving slob though that he doesn’t even remove the email address of the profile of Pat McCat, his made-up poster from before.

And “shredded several times” is another of the funnies. Sit-com material every time with the Wallsend Wally. I could think of a better word than “Wally” but let’s keep it clean…

And for more material for all of you sit-com writers, here’s Dunk lying himself in knots over his supposed trip to Liverpool this week…

  1. rupertinsider Says:

Oldham has just discovered one of the disadvantages of switching on the webcam in KT’s multi-million pound headquarters.

The punters will be able to see when he’s in the office and not swanning about with Rick Parry at Anfield or hanging around airport lounges with his cam.

So how will he get around that? Well he could move his Ma into the back yard and make a tape with only Steve in the office, and then play it on a loop through his web cam. But how is he going to explain why Ma and the 18 yr old fox are not showing up for work. and why Steve keeps scratching his bollocks in exactly the same way every five minutes for 24 hours a day?

he probably figures that the “numpties” and “idiots” on KT would not notice but those swines on the Koptalk-Insider blog would!

“Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive”.

  2. Tim Says:

Just for info this is from http://www.ico.gov.uk (they regulate the DPA and Freedom of Information Act).

    Exemptions
For those who hold personal information about others
There are certain circumstances under the Data Protection Act (DPA) where you will not face any legal obligations depending on whom the information relates to and how it is held.

    To whom the information relates

If the information you hold relates to living individuals who can be identified by the information, then the legal obligations contained within the DPA apply to you.

If one item of information can be used to identify the individual concerned in conjunction with another item of information you hold or expect to hold at some point in the future, then the obligations also apply to you.

No obligations under the DPA arise where the information relates to businesses, companies or other organisations (unless the information that relates to a business is personal information, for example sole traders).

    How the information is held

Only information about individuals which is held on computer or is on paper and sorted by reference to individuals is subject to the DPA.

  3. fat_boy_fat Says:

    HAHA quality rupert

  4. rupertinsider Says:

Ti – So does it apply to Oldham and the information he is demanding?

  5. fat_boy_fat Says:

There is a online compaint form on the site if you think a company is not following it correctly …………huuuuuuuuummmmmm………

  6. Tim Says:

Not entirely sure. It all depends if the info he has on paper is referenced to individuals. By the sheer fact they state that they are able to destroy the records if the member cancels the subscription, etc, then they must be referenced to an individual.

The following link is for an online self assessment. I suppose if dunk has used that he may have answered to favour his desired outcome

    http://forms.informationcommissioner.gov.uk/notify/self/question1.html

But it would certainly be worth a question to the commision to see what they say.

  7. fat_boy_fat Says:

Dunk, mother and his dog(the one that eats serlion steak) in his latest advertisment for the Brand new site they have brought out!

  8. rupertinsider Says:

    Tim

But surely Oldham takes down other information such as credit or debit card details and perhaps addresses on the credit card – and addresses when he ships things.

  9. aldostash Says:

I am a KT gold club member, in fact an honorary member to be exact.

i’ve been following all this for a while now and i am unsure of all the allegations about the head of KT but i am also aware that the people making claims can’t just be as childish as being upset about being barred from an internet forum.

i have been a member for quite some time and this demand for info is really bothering me.
if he asks me for any personal information that will be it for me. there is no need for him to demand this information other than to track down those who he thinks are out to get him.

the simple way around it would be total transparency in regards to money generated by the site, some kind of proof of being a registered business, proof of the lauren donations going to her and registering it as a proper charity. and of course publishing the much publicised and oft delayed book.

a lot of stuff needs to be clarified for me to renew- chatting about liverpool and other sh*t is suppossed to be fun after all

  10. Me Says:

    he really is a tw*t isn’t he?

  11. Richard S Says:

I’m also a member of the Gold Club and am furious to these new demands. I shall be cancelling my subscription and demanding a refund if I am expected to hand over private information – which has nothing to do with me and Oldham’s agendas.

For all I know he will go and sell the info to a mass marketer. He’s having a laugh if he thinks we are all going to give our personal details to a bloody internet football site.

  12. fat_boy_fat Says:

Another thing that bothers me is the way he and his loser buddies put out the idea that the E-Season ticket is shite and a waste of money. Couple of threads on there about it now.
What a Fucking joke, i think its at tops £50 for a year……….. yet these tossers are paying £30 to dunk and his underground illegal site PLUS the money E-Season gets is going TO THE CLUB, not the local Mcdonalds in Scarbrough

LISTEN PEOPLE YOU ARE LIVERPOOL FANS, NOT FAT BLOKE FANS! IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT A FAT BLOKE, GO TO YOUR LOCAL WEIGHT WATCHERS AND GIVE YOUR SUPPORT THAT WAY, IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT LIVERPOOL USE THE OFFICAL SITE AND THE FREE FORUMS ON THE OTHER PROPER FAN SITES!

  13. A Koptalk Gold Club Member Says:

To be fair fat_boy_fat the eSeason ticket from what I have seen isn’t great. And you say “PLUS the money E-Season gets is going TO THE CLUB” well 99.9% of it will be going to the running, admin and BW costs of the eSeason ticket. It doesn’t go straight into the transfer pot.

  14. univofchicago Says:

is that true? if you have evidence, then you should save it up cuz it could prove handy.

if we can provide evidence that fatty has been putting down the site, maybe the lfc.tv people may use it as a basis to kill the site off for their numerous illegal activities.

fatty always tells his radio listeners how good the official package is and “how its worth every penny”. he doesn’t mean it of course. he just doesn’t want to get into deeper shit with those folks especially when they have been warned about their “radio updates” and other illegal video stuff.

  15. fat_boy_fat Says:

A kOPTALK GOLD MEMBER :- Im not proclaiming the E-Season as the grestest thing since slice bread, but the point of the matter is the fact people are handing over 30 notes to Oldham for his site that is full of made up transfer stories, ILLEGAL streams, ILLEGAL feeds pinched from Sky Sports News, ILLEGAL articles pinched from from the offical site, magazine, matchday programme.

And with your point that the 99.9% of E-season money goes to Admin, well if thats the case (which i dont believe it is) then maybe we shouldnt buy a shirt because Adadias gets some of it, shouldnt go to watch the game because some of it goes to maintence companies, shouldnt go on the musuem tour because it pays Stevie G’s wages.
Every penny we put to the club helps the club progress in one way or another, every penny Oldham recieves only helps his waist progress

  16. univofchicago Says:

    “helps his waist progress”

    sounds like poetry…

    hahahahaha.

  17. fat_boy_fat Says:

Univofchicago :- Ive cant say ive ever seen the DUNK screen name say it about the E-Season, but ive seen it plenty of times from the mods since ive been in the gold club.
I seem to remember last year there was a big thread about how shite and a waste of money the E-season ticket is when ‘you can get most of it here for nothin’. (even though they pay £30) Wouldnt surprise me if one of Oldhams Alias popped up in it somewhere

  18. Ron Nasty Says:

Well KopTalk Goldmember 100% of Dunks money goes to him none of it to the club.
What is it with KT and “99.9%” ? There’s lies damned lies and statistics.
Please don’t try to justify him charging you for content. He’s charging you for the illusion that you are in some kind of privaleged position which is patently bollocks.

  19. Tim Says:

rupert, I agree, it just depends on what happens when he gets paid the money. If it is through paypal what info do paypal give duncan? if it is through an interbank transfer then the only info duncan will get is the customer reference given by the person transfering the money. Cheques he will get details from, like bank account number, name and possibly branch. If he has all this info, and records them, then I believe he has to be registered under the DPA.

A Koptalk Gold Member – The e-season ticket gives you the following:

    LEGAL match commentary
    LEGAL match highlights
LEGAL full match (live and delayed) screenings
    LEGAL player/staff interviews
    LEGAL past match highlights
LEGAL access to tickets through the ballot (As per Football(Offences and Disorder Act) 1999 Section 166, aswell as the terms and conditions set by LFC)

  20. rupertinsider Says:

Oldham said the other day that he does not have to register under the Data Protection Act and in any case members should not worry because he gives his word that he will not sell their personal details or use it to make money or reveal it to anyone else.

Why do we have the Data Protection Act? Because thousands of respectable and legitimately registered businesses and other institutions who claim exactly what Oldham claims regularly breach the confidence of their customers and sell or otherwise use or reveal the personal details of their customers to make money. And/or they do not sufficiently guard the information to prevent their employees or ex-employees from using the information. Using personal data is a profitable business. So there has to be legislation to create standards and to provide punishment for those who do not keep to the standards. Once your information gets out there you dont know what it will be used for.

Oldham is not even a registered business, he does not appear to be registered for VAT, we do not know if he pays any business or personal taxes – he is well known to be a shady operator who sells information stolen from other legitimate business. Surely he would be among the first to try to profit from passing on persoanl information.

Before he got himself a share in KT he had a list of email addresses of LFC supporters – nobody knows where he got them from actually. That’s all KT was, originally, a list of email addresses.

Now why would anyone accept his word that he, above all people, would not misuse their personal information?

What about the day he decides to jack it in, as he is always threatening, how will he make one last killing if not sell on his only asset – the personal information on his members? He has already tried to sell his business several times before.

And what if he goes into another business, like porn or gambling – two of his favourites – by himslef or with partners. Do you think he won’t use personal details sent into KT?

Why wont’ he register under the Data Proteciton Act? It seems likely that he is obliged, but even if he can wriggle out of it under some technicality or by lying about the nature of his records, he, above all people, needs to go that extra mile to show people he means business when he says he will not sell, misuse or reveal their personal information. His personal word is worth nothing.

But once again he wants the advantage over everyone else of not being bound by business laws and ethics.

Why not let the Data Protection People sort it out- they’re the experts. Give them a call or write in.

  21. Tim Says:

Just to point out that he may not need to register for VAT. If he is under the threshold (around £60k) for value of taxable supplies (that includes the revenues from the pre-orders on his book, even though books are zero rated) within a 12 month period then he does not need to register.

  22. rupertinsider Says:

Tim – he claims on MySpace to have a salary of 250,000 (probably a lie) to be able to buy multiple vehicles, video equipment and properties for cash or qualify for loans to buy a hotel – and pay for software licenses and other business expenses , bet regularly, take foreign holidays, make large “personal” donations to charity, bribe LFC staff and so on. How can he do all that if the profits of taxable supplies is less than 60K?

Isn’t that the essence of the suspisicon and isn’t that why we should alert the VAT and business and personal tax authorities? If he is clean and above board no harm done.

  23. rupertinsider Says:

To clarify my syntax – I meant how could he do all that if the sum total of his sales of taxable supplies was less than 60K? Sales of less than 60K would give him a net profit of only 5-20K. Where does all his other oney come from?

BTW are memberships subject to VAT (assuming his total sales is over 60K)?

  24. Tim Says:

I think they might be, but as you say he is probably lying, hence the reason why he may not be registered. To bring in £60k per year he needs to sell 2,000 £30 subscriptions per year. Are there really that many gullible people around?

  25. rupertinsider Says:

Tim – I read your response in the summary but so far it has not shown up here in the thread.

You say that it takes 2,000 memberships at 30 quid to make 60k, but then go on to say surely there are not so many people who would pay that for membership?

He claims 6,000 members. Now some of them are honourary (free) and some paid less than 30 quid and some are “lifetime”.

Lately he had a go at squeezing more money from the honourary and lifetime members by shutting them out and then insisting that they produce proof of their membership by providing copies of an email that might be as much as three years old or paying to get back in.

When they complained he jawboned them to the effect that they were free-loaders.

Gradually he has been forced back by the loss of membership and complaints, now he is saying they will get back in when he can get round to processing them.

So now he is creating a new condition – more personal information from those who want to get in.

Since his whole motivation in this exercise is to squeeze more money for the site it is not a big leap to think he might want the personal information in lieu of membership fees. In other words, he can make money from the information they provide even if they dont pay for membership. (Someone on here said you can get as much as 5 quid per person in the information market for a complete package of personal information – credit card or bank or pay pal account and name and address).

Whatever the truth of his claims to 6,000 members, you have a good point that he will need to sell 3,000 members at 30 quid every year (or renewed members) to bring in 60k making him eligible for VAT registration on the basis of the sale of memberships only. But he claims 6,000 – or somewhere around 5,000 paying members. So he is well over the VAT requirements, if he is not exagerrating his membership.

In addition he sells goods and other services, takes deposits on a book which he calls “sales” , collects money for charities which he insists are deposited in his personal bank account and for which he offers no accounting. He also makes money from Google Ads and from all the click-ons and references he gives to advertisers. Someone on here said the Adult Date Finder pays particualrly well for referred clients.

Unless he is lying greatly about his so-called wealth and his membership, it is clear he is well-above the requirement for being registered for VAT – yet he never collects VAT as far as I can see.

If true, this would give him a distinct unfair and illegal advantage over other sites.

  26. rupertinsider Says:

I want to be clear – I dont know if he collects VAT and then passes it on to Customs – its just that I never see any reference to it. Does anyone have an invoice from him which states that the price of the membership or the goods and other services includes VAT?

  27. kopwank Says:

Nail the VAT issue once and for all

As mentioned above DOES ANYONE HAVE A VAT INVOICE FROM OLDHAM

If not he really is in the shit

  28. Ringpiece Says:

He should display his VAT registration number on his site.

UK threshold is a turnover of £61K.

    Sort it Oldham. Sort it.
