Stevo comes back for more

After disappearing for days on end young Steve seems to have decided against leaving home after all. Fatty has his errand boy back, and so should have no trouble adding to his weight. His wife can go back to whatever it was she was doing before Steve disappeared. That's assuming she exists this week. She (if she exists) has obviously given her blessing to the Oldham family holiday being cancelled this summer, so chunk can get the 'inside' news posted as it happens. Well, after it happens anyway.

Before you read on for today's installment in the life of the S*n hat wearer's "family" we're pleased to say that he's found out about us. Is he brave enough to post a link to us, and stand up to this criticism of him? Doubt it. There's a lot of evidence on the net of how he's ripped people off over the years, does he want to put his side across? Doubt it. We welcome his comments, but don't really expect anything to come across. He says, "Did you know I have websites and blogs dedicated to me by people who have access here? Amazing in it…. I remember when I was 14, sad f*cks." Did you know Mr Oldham has websites dedicated to other people's websites? For example, www.ynwa.tv and www.liverpoolway.co.uk are other fansites dedicated to the Reds. Well a certain chunky individual has registered alternative domain names, in a practice more commonly referred to as cyber-squatting. If the fansites had money to waste chasing after the rolly-polly webmaster then they'd have no problem getting these domain names back off him, but they've not got that money. For the "ynwa" name he might argue he's bought a general domain name related to Liverpool and is doing no harm. Maybe, but what about buying liverpoolway.com; clearly a site named after the long-running fanzine? He has no defence; you won't hear anything from him on that topic. There are more, these are just two examples. See this for the registration info for the cybersquatted sites: YNWA and TLW.

Anyway, onto today's insider infotainment:

I was thinking
#1392504 – Wed Apr 26 2006 03:30 PM Reply Quote

If Liverpool win the FA Cup will Chairman Moores go all sentimental again? This isn't finance specific because it could affect a lot of things couldn't it.

Should we end the season on a high then the pressure will ease slightly.

I haven't heard anything for a while now. It's very, very quiet. I'm still expecting some movement next month but I was just thinking ahead.

Word has it that Rafa still isn't satisified on the money front. I can't see him leaving mind but I think he's looking for that extra bit of support.

For the first time in years, and I do mean a long time, I feel Liverpool are very close to challenging for the Premier League. I mean seriously. I'm never excited at the thought of the following season but despite Chelsea's millions, I just feel that this summer is massively important to us.

Every summer though I always feel "this time we must get it right" and not a lot happens. I'm not criticising but had we got that prolific hitman last summer where would we have been now?

Rafa has worked miracles for me. I just pray that we sort our sh*t out this summer and really have a good shake up. Money doesn't guarantee success but an extra two or three players tops this season would certainly have helped.

We must get those major targets in the bag. I feel it's going to be a very busy summer on KopTalk so much so that I've cancelled my July holiday because I sense a lot of activity.

By the way, if you didn't know, Steve turned up safe and well last night. He'll be back on KOPTALK RADIO with myself this evening for the match!

Hey Dunk, I wouldn't go cancelling any holidays in July. I think most of our business will be wrapped up well before then and you could probably do with the break.

I hope Parry and especially Moores share your sentiments and realise just what an opportunity this is to get back where we belong and that they should do the right thing and step aside.

BTW, I still have to 1-ball you for your pro-Arsenal editorial yesterday. Nothing personal

My optimism has dropped a little since reading that. I agree about The miracles that Rafa has worked but it is also true that the board have to get there act together. After the weeks we have had a realty Check was called for. And I think I just had one.

Good to hear from yea Dunk, but I really dont think Moores will stay, everything seems too advanced now. Having said that anything can happen but surely IF Moores wants to stay he will have to stump up big time or risk losing Rafa and ending up with egg on his face.

For me this is the perfect time for Moores to go, Rafa will sign a contract extension, we win the FA cup and we are in the champions league next season, its a nice way to go out plus leaving the club in the hands of people who will take us to the next level. Nice me thinks(hopes)

It's certainly gone quiet on the investment front recently hasn't it!

What an FA Cup win will do to us I don't know, but as you say it'll definitely help Moores out once again! I hope things move on on the investment side of things whatever happens on the pitch between now and the end of the season though.

Rafa needs to be backed big time this time around and the same troubles as before, of not paying that extra million or two on our top targets, could halt things again. We've reached the stage where everything is in place to really challenge for the title except for a top goalscorer and natural winger, and failing to get these again is unthinkable.

Moores MUST sort things this summer as it could well make Rafa think of leaving in the coming year or so if he is not backed properly. I'd like to think that Rafa would stay for the challenge anyway, but money talks in this game and if he's offered something exciting elsewhere then it could well make him think about leaving.

Having the backing of the suits could be the difference between winning the big prizes and just being contenders once again.

No it wasn't supposed to do that mate. I am very positive, investment or not. A take-over isn't just about buying players. I can't see anyone ever coming in and throwing money around like it's going out of fashion. I'd like to see a lot of things improved. However, I feel we're in a difficult position because I like Mr Moores.

Still, let's see what happens. What I will say though is that every transfer window this place explodes right. And as a result, some people do fall out because they get so stressed. Well I predict that this summer will be the worst yet. I think it will be worse than when we signed Kewell!

I really wouldn't lose optimism at this stage. There are certainly things happening behind the scenes. Regardless of investment I really think Rafa will be supported this time around. We are short about 3 quality players and 2 squad players. With sales and a decent (but not obscene injection) Rafa might still have a prosperous summer..

I don't think winning the FA Cup is the same as winning the CL though Dunk.

I really do think we are lucky to have a chairman like Moores as he truely loves the club just as much as any of us. I think if the right deal is in place for Liverpool Football Club he will gladly step aside. He has the best intrests of the club at heart and if we get investment they need to be able to take the club forward and improve of the job Parry and Moores have done

The board however need to back Rafa 100% in the summer whoever it is. I don't have a clue about what's going on re investment but you seemed excited by the news you heard a couple of weeks back so hopefully it will be happy days in the summer.

Taffy, it's gone quiet from top to bottom. It's a strange vibe. I can see something big happening aside from investment this summer. I'm just hunching their mind.

All the papers are quiet about LFC which is unusual. Something's due I'm telling ya.

If we don't get investment this summer I can't see it ever happening. I think the people are there with the money that are prepared to pay good money for the club. Moores can't turn down what I think will come forward saying it undervalues the club. Moores will only turn such bids down if he wants to hold on.

I really have no idea as regards targets. I'd say that for the first time in a long time I haven't heard one whisper or rumour worth mentioning. Nothing has been blocked for it to get out, I just think the club aren't very active just now but I can see this exploding very soon.

do you think the reason its so quiet is because the targets we are after are dependent on whether we receive investment?

I really couldn't say but I'm not too concerned regarding the investment at this time as I've been told Rafa will be backed come hell or high water. As Dunk says it's gone eerily quiet on both investment and the transfer front. That's what leads me to believe that it's all happening behind the scenes. I'd usually get an updat every week and a half or so, but I've had nothing for weeks. When I do I expect lots of developments to have happened.

The last tit bit I was given was a Euro transfer from an LFC account to a holding account about two weeks ago which I got a bit excited about but it turned out to be an installment for Xabi. Thankfully I didn't post that or I would have been lynched when I announced what it was!! Passing on info here can be a dangerous thing…

Cheers. Nice to have Steve back, I missed the lad and was worried about him.

Owen wants to come home. Moores and Parry would like him back and Rafa would take him but not if the funds come out of his own transfer kitty. I think the injury could put an end to things, I guess the World Cup finals and how he does could hold the key. I'm nowhere near as confident as I was. The minute he got injured I cooled on the theory.

Thanks mate, that means a lot. It does get a bit too much at times. I know to people here that they probably don't care or don't understand but there is a family here both on the site and at KOPTALK HQ. We're only human and it can take it's toll, every day of every week of the year.

Don't take them all to serious mate, everyone loves hearing about the behind the scenes stuff, just take it all in your stride…or get fried
