Reds want investment advice? Don’t invest on this.

Off the scale once again. Despite half-hearted attempts to claim otherwise by a possible alias of Dunk’s, “Zico”, the Koptalk members’ site did not contain any advance information on the deal to invest in Liverpool FC.

Dunk might be “Zico”, “Zico” may be an independent bullshitter, but it’s all the same. People making stories up for attention. Like “Private_Eye_2″, Dunk’s other new alias.

I hope the remaining non-family mods on Koptalk check out those IP addresses used.

After completely missing the investment news, the biggest news possibly to hit the club in a long time, Dunk needed some damage limitation. His reputation was shot. A lot of members left as a result of the lack of information. Apart from SC Kair’s wrong information and Zico’s vague information (that covered all angles) they had not got an ounce of exclusive information at all.

So after banning anyone who said anything in public (but not of course the new batch of doubters who’ve decided to keep quiet) Dunk decided it was time for another yarn. Another made-up tale.

When you know – for a fact – that Oldham has no contacts at all with the club then this yarn becomes quite funny…

DIC a better option than Kraft and Co.

Well something is finally going to happen on the investment front. Obviously an offer may not follow after DIC have checked over the books but that would be extremely unlikely. Basically they’ll take a look and when they see the negatives, they’ll just adjust their offer accordingly so there’s nothing to worry about. (Well thanks for that Duncan. We’re not worthy. You know so much we didn’t know already.)

I spoke to a couple of people this morning associated to the likes of L4 and Steve Morgan and there were mixed feelings evident between both sides. (No you didn’t.) L4 are “extremely happy” while poor old Steve Morgan is said to be “pulling his hair out”. I’m sure though that Steve will want what is best for the club. He’s a good man. (Bull. As ever)

The million dollar question I had to ask today was “Is DIC a better option than Kraft?”. As we know Kraft turned his back on the Reds citing attitude and minor investment as a turn off. Whether those whispers were true we’ll never know but what we do know is that the chairman David Moores is now prepared to deal on a larger scale. (Why will we never know? You’ve got all of these contacts, shouldn’t you know? Your lies trip you up once again.) The Dubai-based investors certainly know their business. Equally though does Kraft so I wanted to know for my own peace of mind, if DIC would be a better option than Kraft. (You mean you wanted to have a good read of RAWK and YNWA and see what you could find out before adding it to this attempt at saving face?)

To me it’s not just about money. It’s the long term plan that matters. Anyone can throw money around but it’s the business credentials that are what I look to, hence the obvious attraction to Kraft. (Get ready for some real bull now people.) Who better to ask about Kraft v DIC than the people who brought him to Anfield in the first place, and their opinion? (Who?) Well they believed that DIC would be much more powerful. (Who are “they”? Do you even know?) The excitement of these people is hard to play down. (Excitement? Do you know who “they” would actually be, if you’d actually spoken to them? “Excitement”? You are mad, stark-raving mad. And thick.) They really feel there is nobody out there any better to take Liverpool Football Club into a new and exciting era and they acknowledged that Rick Parry would be deserving of praise once a deal is finalised.(Oh dear. Dunk – you do make yourself look stupid. Saves me a job)

I wasn’t the only person seeking opinions about DIC and their proposed relationship with Liverpool FC. (It gets better.) A senior figure at the Bernabeu had already made contact to the executives I’ve just been speaking to.(What is an “executive” then Dunk? You use the word a lot, but what does it actually mean? It sounds oh-so important doesn’t it? There’s nobody about tea-lady would speak to you. And that’s only because tea ladies are generally speaking nice people who would feel sorry for stupid people like you) Figures there had a particular interest in what was happening at Anfield but without going into that, let’s just say that Real Madrid have been watching (nothing to do with transfers).(What complete and utter bollocks. Rubbish. What are you on?)

I’m a keen follower of horse racing and what Sheikh Mohammed has done in the sport is astounding. (We know. Your love of gambling is second only to your love of bullshitting.) Just look at what Godolphin has achieved. If we had that kind of rub, we’ll be laughing.

Meanwhile, various websites run by Chelsea fans have been publishing editorials about our present situation with DIC. From what I’ve seen posted in our members forums, Chelsea fans are going to great lengths writing up their essays saying how they’re not concerned. Well if that’s the case, why dedicate so much time debating it? (What? Like you’re not concerned about this blog, or what people say about you on est1892 and elsewhere? So why do you spend so much time talking about it? ) If you’re not a threat or if you’re a nobody, people don’t discuss you. Think about it. (So are we a threat to you? Or are you a threat to us? You discuss us a lot, yet say you’re not bovvered. You’re bothered alright.)

Loc: UK The guy(s) from London that were at Melwood last week… just a quickie… they’re back for another meeting after Christmas. They’re also advising Everton about another financial/investment matter if that’s of any interest which I doubt it is

People still fall for this. I feel sorry for them, because they are in for a shock like many others have been once they see how obvious it all is.

Here’s the new alias who popped up the other day. “Private-eye_2″…

Loc: Ireland The rumours are about to start flying and here’s some interesting ones I’ve heard over the weekend.

Liverpool have been in contact with Inter Milan and Real Madrid about taking Figo and Ronaldo on loan.

Celtic to make a bid for Sami Hyypia.

That’s oh so believable Dunk. How did you think it all up?

And again, this morning, back for more…

Loc: Ireland Ok, we all got a bit excited with the possibility of LFC being able to buy like Chelsea have been doing but we need to think about the ramafications of starting down this road. First of all, I hope we never become a club that buys players so other clubs cant get them and then leave them to rot on the bench or in the reserves. Chelsea have seriously affected the careers of both Duff and SWP. Secondly, we would become part of an elite in world football dominated by money. The finanical implications of losing has had a negative impact on the quality of the game with matches getting tighter and tighter.

I was heartened to read the comments by Rafa and the board saying that we wont become another Chelsea. This sort of domination will eventually backfire, e.g. AC Milan of the ’90’s.

We need a new stadium and a structured, sensible transfer market strategy. Our emphasis should be on developing our own players through the youth system and this will require an investment in new coaching and scouting staff.

I want us to earn our reputation, not buy it!

We’ve earned our reputation over the years and even did it the hard way in 2005.

I hardly think that you’ll see Rafa buying 11 new players for £15-20m each like the Chavs did when Abramovich took over.

As i’ve said previously i don’t see Rafa to go for the £30m Shevchenko’s of this world. However, when he needs that extra £5m to buy the likes of Alves then this won’t be a problem.

I always felt that was the plan anyway. The idea must be to raise revenue through a bigger stadium and a better commercial side. This then can be reinvested in the squad, youth team etc.
I do feel however that we need to start looking at signing a top player or two. It is evident that we have a decent squad now, but lack players who can make things happen on the field. So maybe we are looking at spending slightly more money than previous on fewer players (like the Scum do).

I agree in principle but getting more than 1 good youth player via the youth system every other season is hard as Alan Pardew said recently. There’s been exceptions of course with us, Mancs and West Ham bringing a bunch of good kids through but according to Pardew this is a once in 10-15 year thing.
We could of course buy the best youngsters and bend the rules like Arsenal and out of every 3 they invest in 1 will hopefully make it. I think to a certain extend that’s what Rafa is doing.
(Richy – you’re a mod, can you not see that it’s Dunk who’s pretending to be Private Eye 2?)

Good post Private Eye. (It’s Dunk, silly) Like all things in life however there is a balance to be struck in terms of our future transfer policy, should this deal go ahead. No I don’t think we should be attempting to buy a star studded line up over one close season a la Chelsea but the ability to buy those one or two players that can be justified without having to fret about being outbid by the Newcastles of this world will be most welcome surely?? Its also about how the club conducts itself also and the attitude of us fans although I have no doubt the same idiots will still be found ranting on 606!!

Dunk’s attempts to keep the forums going are getting more and more desperate. He’s not reorganised the forums so that users spend most of the day trying to find the one they want. And he’s done away with having a separate forum for LFC and Non-LFC talk, because it means the tumbleweed has less room to flow around in. Kop_5 was first to notice, he doesn’t seem to like it…

Loc: UK No you’re not dim (No – Dunk’s got that job on Koptalk.)

And one other think Dunk – your Alder Hey appeal, the one you said was publicly viewable to “guests” – I have had it pointed out to me that this isn’t the case at all. Another lie, or a genuine mistake?

EXCLUSIVE: Inside story on LFC investors

by Rupert Insider

The inside story on LFC investment started in 2004 when Rick Parry, Executive Director of LFC set up a secret channel of EXCLUSIVE information to a number of anonymous LFC supporters who paid up to £30 each to be part of the privileged group.

Operating for security purposes under the code name “Wallet” he provided a steady flow of tantalising information. Early morning, late at night, direct from the boardroom at Anfield or from airports on his international travels – by telephone and text message and wherever in the world he could find an internet cafe he posted his information to a closely monitored , password-guarded site.

Others sharing their inside information with this exclusive group included Rick Parry’s son and Steve Morgan, the third largest LFC shareholder who wanted to force out the current Chairman and take control of the club, and Mike Jeffries a Hollywood write/producer who also expressed an interest in buying the club. Another in the group member was a shit-stirring member of the BoD known to be opposed to the Chairman, and an ex-player (recently voted the greatest Anfield legend) as well as the sister of a current player, then with a famous Spanish club, who had recently won the Ballon D’or – and two senior journalists – one from a major national tabloid and the other from the leading local newspaper – as well as a gatemen at the LFC training ground at Melwood. And there were others.

Neither Parry nor any of the other informants received any money for their services.

So why did they all risk their jobs, positions of trust, reputations, investment strategies and the future of LFC to supply valuable information to an anonymous group of people from all over the world whose identities they did not know and never would?

Because they all owed personal allegiance to Ducan Oldham – the ex-office cleaner and security guard and now sole owner of a web site run from a garden shed in Wallsend, Tyne-and-Wear.

Oldham leaves it to your imagination why Parry, in particular, is beholden to him. In August he said that Parry had asked him to come to a meeting at Anfield. He had something that Parry wanted badly. So he would keep him waiting and go to Anfield when it suited him before the season begun. And he would not give Parry what he wanted until Oldham got what he wanted – are you following this so far?

It was such a good story that its a shame we had to muddy it by contacting the club. In response Rick Parry said he had never had contact with Oldham and never would, and other senior executives told us that Oldham had never had any access to the club and never would. But they would say that wouldn’t they. We all know better – nod, nod, wink wink.

Oldham’s site is known as Koptalk and it supplies EXCLUSIVE NEWS AND WHISPERS FROM INSIDER ANFIELD, MELWOOD AND THE ACADEMY for only £30 a year.

But there’s no guarantee on that. No sir. If there were Koptalk members could claim their money back today.

Because when LFC and Dubai Holdings announced on Monday that they were at an advanced stage in restructuring the ownership of the club, the paying members of Koptalk were the last to know.

But at least some of them knew ahead of their Owner. In fact, he did’nt know until they told him about it by means of a thread on his own site. They copied the press releases carried by other sites, you see.

“What the fuck” just about sums up their collective reaction. They sounded like Jehovah Witnesses on 1st January 2001 – “What the fuck happened to the end of the world prophecy for yesterday! It was a JW exclusive!”

Some of them could not bring themselves to believe it. Their Owner said it would be Steve Morgan or the L4 group from Hollywood or anyone of an infinite number of other possibilties – but not this!

And what was that EXCLUSIVE story he wrote last week that shot to the top of News Now and earned him thousands of revenue earning hits – “Secret Jet flies Gillete to Melwood “ or something? What happened to the owner of the Montreal Canadiens!

And Kraft, dear old Robert, owner of the New England Patriots, who was virtually an honorary member of Koptalk, what happened to him?

And what about the two mysterious men Oldham met in the middle of the night at the Pier Head to talk about the takeover of the club. Surely they were’nt fake sheiks were they?

On Monday confused Koptalker loyalists were in denial. They scrambled for reasons why the good news about the Dubai investment could not be true – anything was better than facing the reality that their Owner had duped them.

If they had not been newcomers to Koptalk they would not have been so shocked. They would have known that Oldham was last to know when Robbie Fowler left for Leeds – in fact he said two days before that he was not leaving – and he was the last know when he came back – he said two days before that he would not. And he was the last to know about …………but I think you get the picture.

So what was Oldham’s personal reaction to the Dubai takeover story when he got off the lavatory late Monday morning?

Oh that ! Investment does me ‘ead in.

Let’s change the subject, let’s talk about my Alder Hey Christmas appeal. You see I’ve got these free Argos vouchers and if you suckers would give me cash for them, the poor sick kiddies would be so grateful.

book_cover.gif

There are French farces and there are Koptalk farces. And the longest running of these is “Investment does me ‘ead in!” by Duncan Oldham. Its been running on Koptalk since 2004 until the present. Its earned Oldham thousand (well hundreds) of new members and driven most of them away again.

Its a comedy. But it was’nt written that way. It was supposed to be serious. It was supposed to be his break-through to the big time. No more lurking in his Mercedes outside the Ladies in Wallsend, nor more fibbing to the benefits people.

In his Walter Mitty dreams he saw himself as the new power-broker at Anfield sticking it to the “suits” who had never given him the recognition he deserved. He would drink Bloody Mary’s again at the Premier of Mike Jeffries Goal III and IV and V. Maybe get on the receiving line to greet Her Majesty and talk her into giving him one of those Royal Warrant badges to stick on his site alongside his fake awards.

But the plot of this farce is too involved. The fun is in the details. Lets save them for another day. This post is already too long.

Meanwhile. Here’s a bit of nostalgia taken from the Koptalk site. It supposedly written by his “editor” the 17 year old step brother Steve – but Oldham wrote it himself. He often uses Steve’s name when he wants to talk about himself in the third person.

Investment Update
#1652809 – Fri Sep 22 2006 11:05 AM Reply Quote

Dunk asked me to post a quick message.

He spoke to a couple of people yesterday overseas regarding potential investment and they were not convinced that the club have any firm offers.

They believe that the headline and exclusive reports in the Liverpool Daily Post earlier this week were fed to them by the club to get something in the news.

While it is obvious that Steve Morgan is interested in investing, he hasn’t made a fresh bid, neither has L4. Overseas sources have told KOPTALK that there is a strong possibility that Bob Kraft has been in talks with the club.

Just after midnight Dunk received a call from a concierge friend at a top Liverpool hotel to get himself down there as there were some key figures of possible interest.

To cut a long story short Dunk was at the hotel until 4am talking to a couple of individuals who he had been introduced to. These guys were brokers from a major London based company. They are meeting Rick Parry this morning before heading to Leeds to meet officials connected to Leeds United (no idea why).

Although they are currently talking to Liverpool Football Club about investment the main man gave the impression that nothing would come of todays meeting.

Dunk has a massive hangover as he didn’t get to bed until 6am so he apologises for his no show this morning. He will be on later today.
