Newcastle rip-off continues for Liverpool fans

It’s a question we’ve asked over and over again. What do you get for your £30 membership fee at Koptalk? Are Liverpool supporters getting a good deal or are they being ripped off?

Koptalk is a site run by a former citizen of Scarborough from a portakabin in the Wallsend area of Newcastle, a site which can only be accessed after paying a £30 membership fee, which will be reduced by £10 if you send cash through the post to him. Duncan Oldham is that individual, and his claims to be a Liverpool fan are often contradicted by his actions. Recently he claimed he was “impartial” about Liverpool, which roughly translates as him not being a fan at all, as we’ve long suspected.

After promising to close down his free site and concentrate on his members only, Duncan Oldham, the eternal liar in charge of Koptalk has now started offering his misleading headlines for free again. How many people signed up to Koptalk’s Gold Club / Members site just because Oldham had withdrawn his free made-up and exaggerated ripped off tales? £30 so that they can get this is a rip-off in itself really, but now they find they can get it free.

Oldham lies and cheats Reds every day. For example when he says this…

“Exclusive news and reports from inside Anfield and Melwood”

…on his sign-up pages, he’s telling a complete lie. The only way his stories can be described as “Exclusive” is because nobody else has made those stories up. We’ve still to see one exclusive from Oldham since the blog started.

Another thing offered, and illegal it may be, but if Koptalk say this is part of what you get for the £30…

“*Links to FREE audio and/or video of LFC first team matches – watch and listen live!”

…then Liverpool fans should be able to expect a well-organised section containing links to each game. All fully explained in detail. They don’t get that though. Since the early part of the season the best that’s been offered is a link that every other LFC site with a forum seems to mention, to a site with “myp2p” in its URL. Often the link has been provided by the Koptalk owner using an alias as his sign-in, in his pathetic attempts to hide from those who will prosecute him for his dodgy dealings. Considering he’s charging £30 for this, Liverpool fans don’t want to have to mess around and this site he refers to – “myp2p” is nothing to do with him. Save your money and go directly to that site, or keep an eye on all the free forums prior to games for links as good as, if not better, than what Oldham offers.

There’s a site that’s often spoken about, “TASS”, that works to provide feeds. They also charge, and no doubt are also at risk of being prosecuted for breach of copyright. Putting the legal issues to one side, I’ve heard a lot of positive and negative feedback about what they offer, but at least they are putting some work in for their fees. Oldham sits on his arse and gets a link off another LFC site (just like you could) and expects to be paid £30 for it. Oldham hasn’t even used part of that £30 to look at this site called “TASS” to see if he can help his members. He knows nothing about it…

Re: TASS [Re: Andy_James]
#1693287 – Tue Nov 07 2006 10:55 PM

What does Tass offer? I know nothing about it really.

——————–

What else does Koptalk offer? How about these two…

NEW for 2006-07: Exclusive training sessions reports direct from Melwood
NEW for 2006-07: Exclusive photos direct from Melwood – see the lads train

…both short-lived features. The first one consisted of Dunk or his step-brother / son Steve peering over the Melwood fence and pretending that they understood what the various drills were that the players were going through. The second one consisted of the same conman and his apprentice using a long lens to take photos over the same fence. They got bored after a couple of weeks and that was the end of it.

Although it’s now removed from his list of “features”, Oldham often brags about the great competitions he runs. As far as we can tell, nobody has ever actually received anything by way of a prize.

The latest one, heavily plugged from the front page of Koptalk.coN is this…

NEW COMPETITION
#1691486 – Sun Nov 05 2006 06:51 PM

Dave won the XBOX 360 and his wife has never forgiven us! Kop 5 is waiting to take receipt of his multi-satellite receiver that he won in our last comp, with that one closing, we now need to run a new competition!

Having had a look around for ideas, our next comp will be for a Nintento Wii system that are going to be very, very popular!

(removed list of features for the “Wii” system that Oldham had cut and pasted from somewhere)

Details of the competition will be added to the.. you got it… COMPETITIONS FORUM over the next 24 hours!

We’ll pre-order the system from Amazon this evening so it should be here around the official release date.

www.wii.com

——————–

Did “Dave” really win this XBOX? “Kop 5″ should have got his multi-satellite system by now but still hasn’t. He probably never will. As for this competition, well fatso says that the details would be added in the next 24 hours. He said that on Sunday evening yet by Wednesday morning there was still no sign of it being added. This is what happens when you make things up as you go along.

How about one of the other things offered by Koptalk? All our member areas are moderated 24/7 by KopTalk staff which means you will be free of rival fans and immature Reds that can spoil your entertainment. What this means in reality is that Oldham will decide who he thinks is immature. He’ll decide what can and can’t be said, and with him being so inconsistent it’s hard to work out what you can say.

“Free of…immature Reds…” says the bullshit-ridden sales page for Koptalk. That’s not how it works and those who are members – having paid £30 to be members – are getting quite pissed off at being treated like kids…

Yet again another thread locked without explanation…….
#1692909 – Tue Nov 07 2006 01:24 PM

Dunc/Mods whoever….

Instead of locking the thread (PLO) because some posts go over the top or get personal, USE THE AUPs it is what they were designed for.

We lose another debate because people are not getting gripped by the morale police.

Can we sort this out please. there were some excellent points raised by individuals who derserve a response.

It’s very disappointing and it’s tiresome when all of us are treated like naughty children. Not to have an explanation just compounds the disenchantment to be honest.

I find it incredible that this is happening. This is a MEMBERS forum. The members should have a say in what is considered acceptable or not.

We all agree to abide by the AUP’s. If any posts go against that then say so, and allow pwople to moderate their posts.

People like to have a good debate, especially when so many important events are happening world-wide. What is so wrong with that? The ability to do this in the Gold Bar is an important part of the KT facilities, and one which should not be censored the way it is.

I know Dunk posted a few days back that posts on war or religion were banned but to be honest I was hoping that this was said in jest.

I left school a long time ago, and have no great wish to be treated like a naughty schoolchild again – I’m too old for that. I enjoy taking part in the serious debates on here, even if sometimes I don’t agree with the views of other posters. I have never resorted to bad language, or insults in an effort to get my viws across.

If other posters have done that, then let them be put in a sin bin (ie refused permission to post) for a couple of days as a penalty for breaking the AUP.

To delete a post, and inflict censorship on everyone is ou of order in my view.

Come on Dunk, and the rest of you Mods, sort this out and stop inflicting wholesale censorship on everyone.

Couldn´t agree more. This censorship is getting out of control and is turning people off the site. There is not much more irritating than wathcing threads disappear withough warning or explanation!

Kirby and Neil,

I have only just been alerted to the particular post and thought that it was a little OTT, although not worth locking the whole thread over. A deletion of the single post or a sin bin for the individual would be a better idea in my opinion.

I didn’t delete the thread, and agree that better moderation is required. We are adults after all and debate is a very healthy way of learning about stuff. I for one rarely add anything to the religion/politics threads, but I enjoy a good read…it increases my knowledge base.

Sorry for locking the thread. A mod called me and asked me what to do. I said don’t delete it, lock it and I’ll take a look. It’s my fault, I will re-open it.
——————–

34 words. Well done Dunk – 30 seconds per word. Why, if what you’ve just said was true, did it take you so long to come with this answer. 34 words mainly of one syllable too. I think what really happened is this. You screwed up. You have upset many of your main crop of current regular participants. You’ve tried to wriggle out of it.

So – Liverpool fans who want to be treated like adults are best avoiding Koptalk – the overweight thief of domain names, who has a message “You’ve been pied” on the domains he’s stolen from other Liverpool websites, is sure to decide you are immature.

Back to the exclusive stories and insider information. Dunk was asked a question about investment, and because he’s not got a clue due to having NO CONTACTS AT ANFIELD WHATSOEVER he had to make something up…

Interestingly enough I spoke to a friend of mine who knows the now departed Noel White. It does appear that his comments were due to frustration at the lack of progress on the investment front and were not meant to critisise Rafa or destabilise. Misguided, but intended to nudge in the right direction
- – - – - – - – - – - –

Dunk at this stage of course is getting excited. This “LFCStanmore” seems to be making up the same stories that fatso made up to cover up his complete lack of information over the Noel White resignation. Here comes Dunk…

I presume you have no timescale on potential developments. If only Morgan would have offered Moores a “fair / correct” price rather than trying to talk the clubs value down to a price level where West Ham and Villa are being sold

Dunk, slightly off topic I know but what’s the latest with the stadium?

I know we had the notice from the council a few weeks ago but there hasn’t been anything from the club as far as I know regarding when they are gong to start building.

Is all the money definately in place or are we still looking for some financial input? If we are does that mean that there is still a questionmark over whether the new stadium goes ahead?

Be glad for some sort of update if possible.

Just that everything is “supposed” to be on course. It is a subject that does little for me mate. I’m personally not concerned and I think it will go ahead, whether that will be under Moores I don’t know.

Yes, until this is finally sorted there will be no real stability.
——————–

So Dunk – this weekend news… WHERE IS IT? There was none of course, because Dunk MADE IT ALL UP.

So far so good – Dunk has proved in a couple of days of posts that his site is a rip-off. But we’ll carry on a little longer with this in case anyone is in any doubt. How about….

*Links to first team goals usually within a few minutes of full-time (3rd party)

…which of course is worded carefully, along with some anti-accessibility text, to make you think Dunk will let you see all the LFC goals on his site as part of your £30 fee. He is very nervous though about actually providing the goals himself because he knows it’s illegal and he knows that he shouldn’t be making money for it. But Oldham can’t provide the goals or even the links to the goals all the time now. Take “Joxer” who was looking for some highlights from the Champions League. After all, legal or not, he’s paid for them. He asked about it…

Also ripped off are the owners of the copyright for these photos, advertised from the front page of Koptalk.coN, which will not have been paid for from the agency, who’ll have expected a three-figure sum for EACH PHOTO…

Otsemobor linked
#1691222 – Sun Nov 05 2006 12:01 PM

Former Liverpool defender Jon Otsemobor has been linked with a possible return to the club.

The Crewe Alexandra vice-captain has been putting in some fine performances since leaving Liverpool for Rotherham in 2004. He then signed for Crewe on a free.

Jon was expected to have a long Liverpool career so it was a surprise when he failed to make the grade.

The link is very speculative but it’s still worth a mention.

——————–

The link may well be very speculative, but Oldham, if you’ve got inside information and contacts from over that Melwood wall and behind the doors of Anfield, why can’t you find something more concrete out?

It wasn’t a problem for someone from another website. Thanks to one of our readers for pointing this out from TLW. In a thread here – http://forum.liverpoolway.co.uk/showthread.php?t=39066 site owner and editor of the fanzine, Dave Usher says: “I asked a mate of Semmy’s the other day about the rumours linking him with a return, but he hadn’t heard anything about it. He phoned Semmy and asked him, but he knew nothing about it either.”

You never get ANYTHING like that on Koptalk, unless it’s made up. NEVER. Another example of the rip-off that is Koptalk. Koptalk charge £30 to not provide insider information. TLW ask for optional donations to keep their forums running, and if you use their site you’ve a good chance of getting regular inside information.

The next one was less of a rip-off, more of a piece of shitty misleading headling writing. On the Koptalk.coN site, designed to draw you in and consider parting with that £30, was this…

LFC NEWS Striker arrested

Note what it says. Four words. Starts with “LFC News” – so it’s got to be about our club. Then “Striker arrested” – so it’s got to be one of OUR strikers; Fowler, Crouch, Kuyt or Bellamy. (insert Family Fortunes “Ah aaah” noise here) WRONG! It’s about a former Liverpool player, the worst Liverpool number 9 in living memory. The serial spitter and now part of Fat Sam’s alehouse team, Mr El Hadji Diouf.

HE’S NOT AN LFC STRIKER SO IT’S NOT LFC NEWS.

Diouf arrested
#1692805 – Tue Nov 07 2006 11:19 AM

Former Liverpool striker El-Hadji Diouf, has been arrested over an alleged assault on his wife.

It has been reported that the player’s wife Valerie was hit by the player during the early hours of Sunday morning. She is said to have sustained a bust lip.

Diouf has been bailed pending further inquiries.
——————–

So, Liverpool fans, save your thirty pounds. Even if Koptalk’s disregard of the S*n boycott doesn’t bother you, even if you don’t mind them making up stories about our strikers in an attempt to mess their careers up doesn’t concern you, save that cash.

Koptalk rip Reds off. Avoid at all costs.
