Twelfth Most Popular Liverpool Fan Site Thinks Its Huge

In his latest rant, Duncan Oldham, the sole proprietor of the twelfth (yes 12th) most popular Liverpool FC fan site believes the work of this blog to expose his exploitation of Liverpool FC fans is down to the popularity of his site, referring to Koptalk.con as “huge”.

In fact, Koptalk is not huge. It used to be able to brag about being the number one Liverpool fan site many years ago, before any other LFC sites existed, but these days Koptalk is no better than twelth according to independent rankings.

They say they pay no attention to what we say yet they debate EVERYTHING from here every day. Absolute class. It takes time to adjust to such attention. Needlesstosay we do not talk about, or report on the activities of Koptalk because it is huge, on the contrary it is small now, we talk about it because we want as many Liverpool fans as possible to be aware of this fraud and the lies that are spouted by Duncan Oldham.

Koptalk is the only Liverpool fan site, actually as far as we know it is the ONLY football fan site full stop, which charges users for participating on a forum. Which is all Koptalk is – a forum, and a bad inactive one at that. A dying community propped up daily by the ramblings of it’s owner and his family.

So Oldham we do not comment because of jealousy of your status, we comment and report on your activities as a public service.

Honorary members are freeloaders – says rogue site

Everyone knows that Oldham is glued to this blog. It’s probably the first site he visits when he heaves himself out of bed at 3 pm – the last he reads when he falls back in at 8 pm. In fact, the blog sets his daily agenda.

And right on cue, following our discussions and comments about honorary members, he has decided that he has enough of that lark.

He knows that some of the few ultra loyalist honoraries who are left are just paying lip service – waiting for an opportunity to denounce his site and leave. The trouble is they all sound like sincere sycophants. He doesn’t know which of them are acting.

So he’s decide to use the King Herod solution again. Remember that? In the summer he ordered the death of all the Newborn in order to get the bloggers. And it was all in vane. A terrible waste of perfectly good members. And the bloggers are still on his site every day.

But he never learns. He’s not very bright. And rather than suffer the stress of waiting for the next public defection by an honorary, like Johnnny’s yesterday, he has ordered the death of them all.

It’s his site, as he has often told us. If these freeloaders want to access it they can pay or “fuck off”.

He wants to sound tough but he’s not man enough to deal with the sacked honoraries himself. He hides behind his kids again. He wants Steve to deal with them – that’s his 17 year old step brother who was probably 13 or 14 when most of the honoraries first made their contributions to Oldham’s site.

So I was not surprised to see this notice from Duncan Oldham on Koptalk today cancelling the “honorary membership scheme” with immediate effect. He’s revised the history of the scheme and dressed up his decision but the brutal and cowardly message is clear.

Someone recently asked if they could be made a Honorary Member. This fun way of rewarding members in the former Insider & Gold Club features was axed some time ago as we found that some Honorary Members felt they had a divine right to ‘boss’ and in some cases ‘abuse’ other members. This was putting newcomers off which wasn’t acceptable.

The Honorary Membership scheme is no longer offered. Even friends of ours, modertaors and VIP contributors are no longer available to take advantage of HM’s. In fairness, many HM’s do still contribute by way of their subscripion to help us but a limited number do not.

If you are a non-paying HM, please contact steve@koptalk.com when you have a spareminute.

There have been diffences of opinion on this blog about the function of honourary members on Koptalk. I’ve taken the view that Dunk knows best. He’s often told us they were his paid helpers.

He has always said that despite the enormous personal wealth he claims his site has brought him, he cannot afford to pay cash to those who work for him but he can pay them with free membership and an honorary title. He has put a monetary value on it – adding the membership fee and the cost of the old SMS service. Honorary members also get free entrance to the competitions for free gifts.

They are subsidised by the paying members. Most of the paying members are newcomers from overseas who stumble on Koptalk and believe its sales pitch without knowing its history. Some honorary members assure the newcomers that the site, like them, is honourable.

Oldham demands that the newcomers pay him “donations” of £30 a year – or if he is in especially desperate need for cash on any given day – £15.

There have been a lot of honorary members through the years. Koptalk could not have survived without them. But most of them have now done the honourable thing. Johnny ’s leaving yesterday, was only the latest of many who have left Koptalk since this blog started in the summer of 2006. As it happens, he started as a paying member and was one of the most honourable – in the true sense of the word.

But there are some left – still very active. What’s their function?

Well they help keep alive the pretence that Koptalk is a reliable source of insider information or investment advice, or, like barrack-room lawyers, they go about on other sites, including this blog, defending Oldham’s shady practices.

At least one of them acts as a moderator on Koptalk – standing just off centre-stage to add a deferential word to the Oldham family discussion of the price of coffee and cheese and wagging his tail whenever Oldham makes a smirking suggestion about the statuesque Katie, whom, he continues to tell us with a snigger “is only 18″.

I suggested only yesterday that the remaining honorary members could expect no more than the two minutes Johnny got yesterday to say his goodbyes – even less if Oldham can cut off their access before they are able to announce their departure.

Oldham’s sentimental talk about his “Koptalk family” can disappear mighty fast when his personal interests are threatened.

He is very nervous about those honourary members that remain. He knows they are criticised on this blog. He knows they post on Est 1892. He can read the tea leaves. And when his paranoia meets his sense of outraged greed something has to give.

In this case it’s the honorary members free lunch.

Off with their heads!

Johnny be gone – cheesed off at “made up rubbish”

Yet another of Dunk’s key members walked out on him tonight.

Johnny H was one of those posters who in the past had provided correct “insider” information, thus giving him something of a reputation on Koptalk. Not any more.

I’m delighted for him; delighted he’s not a part of such a disgraceful site, delighted that his actions have matched his reputation. I’ve heard a lot of nice things said about him, and although I’ve said that before about Koptalk members, he’s one of the few not to have one or two bad things said about him too by way of balance. Now he’s left the site that does its best to hurt the club he supports. He’s a Liverpool fan, he shares his “insider” knowledge with his fellow supporters with the same excitement we all do if we hear something positive about our team. Unlike his former favourite site’s owner, who has no insider knowledge whatsoever. Duncan Oldham is that site’s owner, and even with the stuff he makes up or steals from other sites (claiming it as having come from one of his numerous imaginary sources), he only takes pleasure if the news is negative.

Duncan Oldham’s stories tend to be flaky and vague, unless he wants to have a dig at our club. Scouting reports are so vague that when I published one on here I had complaints from false-teeth owners that theirs had shot out when they laughed at the “report”. Ok, I made up the bit about false-teeth, but people did tell me how much they laughed at that particular piece of shite, and I think they used words to suggest something had left their body as they laughed. We get things like, “The boss would be interested in signing this player if the price is right and the player is prepared to accept the wages we offer him and if his agent gets in touch with us and if other targets aren’t available and if…” And although that’s exaggerated slightly, it’s not far off what Dunk usually says. It’s only if he’s accusing Craig Bellamy of a training ground bust-up (it didn’t happen) or Peter Crouch of having given an exclusive to the S*n (as if) that we get any detail.

Johnny might not get another piece of “insider” info ever again, he might be the one who reveals who the new investor is when it finally happens, he might already know who’s lined up in Rafa’s sights for the January transfer window. But Johnny knows one thing for sure. Duncan Oldham’s site does not do what it says on the tin, it does not give exclusive information from inside the Academy, Melwood or Anfield. It has not got anyone on the inside. It makes everything up, with the exception of what it steals.

Johnny says he’s found a new “forum” home, and whichever forum that is, he knows that he can post there without having to pay. He’ll not be helping someone who supports The S*n. He’ll not be adding value to a site that has very, very little value to start with. He’ll not be helping the conman to keep on conning.

And from what I’ve been reading on there of late, he’s not the only one to see that he shouldn’t be there any more.

And Then There Were None. Johnny H Bids Farewell.

As if things couldn’t get any worse for ripoff merchant Duncan Oldham, his only remaining Insider has had enough and bid his farewells. Needlesstosay though the thought police at Koptalk only let his message stay for a mere 2 minutes before being deleted as the mod powers went into overdrive.

Many Koptalk members reading this will not be aware that their one remaining reliable source for Insider information has set off for pastures new, due to the censorship in place at Koptalk. The end days for Koptalk are nigh.

Johnny H was, in my opinion, one of the few posters that had a decent track record, along with tom and one or two others. I, like many others, would wait patiently for any information Johnny could provide, and we were appreciative when it came along.

Well, that’s me done I’m afraid.

I signed up as a paying member a few years ago before managing to make some good posts with solid information in them.

The odd bit of stick was worth it though, I felt I was contributing something on here. I even got made an honorary member!

However, and I mean this with all due respect, I think this site is on a massive downward spiral. The more interesting of the posters have left, there is no insider info on here anymore, no nothing.

I know the reasoning behind this, but would rather not become bogged-down on that subject.

I have enjoyed most of the time I’ve been a member here, but alas all good things must come to an end. I mean, reading chats between Dunk, Steve and Katie about coffee…. no offence but really? Is that what this site has become?

No sharp incisive wit, no gossip, just made up rubbish and the odd chat about the price of cheese. It’s not really what I’m after.

So, having found a site more suited to my needs, I will simply bid you a fond farewell.

I’ll close the door on my way out.

We won’t bother deconstructing Johnny H’s post, the words speak for themselves.

So when your last remaining genuine Insider leaves, and there is a cover up in operation to hide the fact that he has said his farewells, who do you believe has your best interests at heart? The blog or Koptalk?

Koptalks loss is once again Est1892’s gain.

Incidentally other members who also saw the post have been forcibly removed from Koptalk, i.e banned without notice, after they tried to post an FAO to bid farewell to Johnny. tut tut Duncan. tut tut. Another action by Oldham which is very consistent with his past behaviours, and one of many reason why he his so despised by most of his former members.

Time for Koptalk to pack their bags and say farewell to the Internet. 

Malta LFC supporter complains about rip-off.

I once cracked the weak joke on here: “How do you make a Maltese Cross – tell him you’re Duncan Oldham from Koptalk”.

Well it seems its not a joke at all, judging by the email I received just now from an LFC supporter in Malta, who has given me permission to publish it.

Oldham frequently boasts that he is loved in Malta. So much so that some of us speculated that he was preparing a bolt-hole there for when the tax inspectors and benefit fraud unit comes sniffing around his Koptalk shed in Wallsend.

I’ve made the point before that he survives these days on the mandatory “donations” he demands from LFC international supporters.

But why would they pay Oldham for information about LFC? There’s not an LFC supporter club anywhere in the world which does not have more genuine access to LFC than Oldham. In fact LFC executives have told us and at least one overseas supporters club that Oldham has never met or communicated with any executive of the club and he has no access to LFC whatsoever.

Recently he boasted that he and his sidekick, Steve, were going to Malta to be with his admirers. He also said that he would buy a property there for his Ma. It never happened. After a mysterious silence, he simply announced he had called it off.

It was about that time he was being interviewed for potential illegal trading activities by a government inspector in Wallsend and that might have caused the cancellation. But perhaps its letters from Malta that has convinced him that he is as unwelcome there as he is at Anfield. It seems he’d better look elsewhere for that bolt-hole.

First a letter signed by 17-year old “Editor” of Koptalk, Steve, who is Duncan Oldham’s step-brother.

In this letter he (or whoever actually wrote it) tells a few lies to disguise the fact that Koptalk was forced to close down its free forums in the summer because there was a massive exodus of users to other sites, and it was forced to re-organise its other sites because 85% of existing members defected, and because it signed fewer new members in the summer than in any summer since it began years ago.

I hope existing members of Koptalk note that Steve is offering a membership 50% off this year – ₤15 – and hinting that the same price will be available next year. So if you have paid Oldham ₤30 you can use this letter to demand a refund.

We have closed down the Insider feature and are having just one member feature. We’re wanting to attract a more mature section of Liverpool fans, people such as yourself who just want to discuss Liverpool FC matters. We want to take the concentration away from ‘gossip’ although that will naturally continue as it’s what we all like best

We decided over the summer that we didn’t have enough time to run a members site, koptalk.com and koptalk.org and that we had to dedicate our time to members only. We were finding that most people were no just using the Gold Club forums and if they did use the Insider section, duplicate threads etc were taking place. It was ok in the early days but now it just doesn’t make sense, plus we had always hoped that we would just have one community of die-hards one day.

All annual members are to be upgraded at no extra cost until their subs expire so we’re currently upgrading them. Hi Steve,

I have finally decided to e-mail you cos I really was not in the mood. I am very disappointed with your reply because whether or not you have closed the insider section is not really my problem.

The whole issue is that I paid a life time membership and I expect that to be honoured. However not to worry as I will neither pay the stg 30.00 nor the stg 15.00 you have mentioned. Your site has been going from bad to worse and I am not prepared to pay money to ” supposedly” get inside info about Liverpool FC. The truth is that Dunk knows absolutely nothing about what is going on and his comments and “inside” info are just a bunch of lies or information gathered from other more reliable sources that we would already know about anyway. I really think this is a disgrace and your site should not even be operating as you are taking money from genuine LFC fans and provide them with rubbish.

How many times have I seen posters on the main site asking to join so that we get investment about a hot topic. Then I log on and boom… nothing there. Well not until a couple of days when Dunk decides to move his big bottom and invents a few things to post. This is ridiculous. I have read info provided by Duncan that is supposed to be real insider info and then the contrary happens after a couple of days. One such incident happened just before Robbie Fowler re-signed and Dunk posted that he had officially phoned Fowler and the latter told him that there was no chance of him re-signing. Guess what happened after a couple of days…..Fowler does sign and the rest is history.

I really think you should wake up Oldham as people have started to realise that you are a waste of space. Your site will not last. You made me an honorary member when I offered to help you with your holiday in Malta. Where`s my honorary membership? Where`s my lifetime subscription? The reason why you removed the insider was so that members like myself with a lifetime membership will have to pay. I e-mailed you twice to try and help you with your holiday and even managed to get you some prices for the Hilton and you know what… you did not even bother to reply. To be honest I do not think that you can really afford it and your planned holiday in Malta never existed in the first place.

Oldham, I am a big Maltese LFC fan and I happen to be intelligent enough to understand your motives. You have the only LFC site where members have to pay and for what…..TOTAL RUBBISH.

P.S By the way, I will be writing to my contacts in THE REAL LIVERPOOL FC CLUB and tell them the story and about your rubbish site. I seriously think something needs to be done about it.

Liverpool FC Investment Saga Hots Up. So Does Jackanory Rouge Website.

One Wallsender will be glad to hear that BBC have recommissioned a new series of the popular kids TV show Jackanory, after around 10 years away from the screens.

For Wallsend resident Duncan Oldham though Jackanory never left the screens, he’s been making a decent living off writing fiction for years. For Liverpool FC fans it’s if it never went away, whenever we want to read some made up stories, or Jackanorys, we just read about Oldhams latest tell-tales.

As any Insider Insider reader will know, Oldham has been using the imminent investment takeover as a rue to make up stories for his few remaining members, and to make them believe that he is an Insider at Liverpool FC.

He would have you believe that he has sources at the club, sources in the business of acquisitions and takeovers. The truth is, as we know, and have known for a long time, Oldham tells porkies – big fat ones. Duncan Oldham is living on his past lies, and Koptalk.con is living on borrowed time.

Here’s his latest rant, not missing a chance to get in some digs at this blog, which has helped to crumble his fraudulent incomings.

Do you know that every single time another site takes a swipe at KopTalk/myself, we get a burst of new members and/or book orders. What’s that all about? As a result we’ve stopped our paid advertising on Google’s Ads

The truth is of course that there is no “burst”, there’s been no new book deposits for years. Signups to his shockingly bad redesigned website are at an all time low, and where Oldham could once shout from the rooftops that his site was the number one LFC site (back in the ninties!), it’s now no better than 10th at best. And paid advertising? That shows how desperate he’s become to get new members.

On to his latest investment Jackanory then.

You may recall a couple of months back that I dictated a post to Steve (to post on the site) as I was in Liverpool laid in bed with a massive hangover, regarding some gentlemen that I had been introduced to at the Radisson Hotel by a concierge I know there.

Basically I received a late call to get myself to the hotel to call in as if for a random pint, so that I could then be informally introduced to these blokes who were in the city from London for a meeting the next day with club officials regarding investment.

If you recall the guys had a meeting at Melwood with Parry etc and then left to go to Leeds United in the afternoon on other business. The puzzling bit was why they were speaking to Leeds. That can’t have been connected to us surely so I assumed they were maybe doing something on a smaller scale with Bates regarding their ground or something.

Anyway, the same guys are back in the city tomorrow. They have a meeting at Melwood on Thursday and this is regarding investment. The source will not tell me anything more because of confidentiality, 100% no way, he won’t budge.

What’s interesting is how the club is using Melwood a lot these days to entertain, and not Anfield. The modernisation of the facilities makes this nice and easy and it’s much more private. Hush hush etc once those gates are shut.

Now there’s little point in us posting out at Melwood on Thursday because we know what these guys look like and what they’re called. The suits rarely go to Melwood but even if we see Moores and RP roll in it only confirms what we already know. The only advantage would be if we spotted someone else rolling in but in all fairness we have that covered as we know the official ins and outs the majoirty of the time.

Anyway, I just thought I’d update you incase any rumours start later in the week regarding the suits and/or investment.

Oh give it a rest Oldham, we’ve heard it all before from you. Do I even need to comment? Let’s leave it at that then. He has no sources. Made up bullshit.

The thread, “Investment meeting this Thursday at Melwood” then turns in to a bit of a swipe at Oldham for capitalising on the rumours and speculation. Some of his members are starting to wise up to him now, well done Desertscouser and Craig (are they wising up to the lies?)

Yup, I hate the topic too but when I got tipped off this morning I couldn’t choose to ignore it because it’s my duty to report here.

Anything I ever pass on is in good faith and I try to make sure you know if it’s first hand, second hand or third hand because it can weaken as it goes down the chain.

However, this isn’t a rumour, this is from one of the guys who will be present and it IS to do with investment/takeover. He’s not a potential investor but he’s acting with others in relation to this subject. Because of confidentiality he and his colleagues will not talk and rightly so if we’re honest about it.

As another poster said, the fact it’s happened within a short time of Gillett putting and appearance in makes it interesting, well it does to me

Whether anything happens over the coming weeks, months or years, so be it but there is activity and just because things don’t always materialise, doesn’t mean that the club aren’t trying to do what’s right.

My personal opinion – based on the pattern I’ve seen build up since they were last in town – is that this time it’s more genuine than before. We have to remember that we’ve heard all the takeover stuff before but we’ve never had much info about the comings and goings of those involved.

While it is frustrating, people should show respect to the whole community and not just think about their own view. It is after all a forum for discussion and whether we like it ot not, investment is a topic that’s very current to the club at this time.

In good faith? Like the Torres, Joaquin, Duff, Shaun Wright Phillips exclusive to name just a few. There are hundreds of pie in the sky transfer snippets that Oldham would have us to believe he’s been privy to over the years.

So basically what is Duncan saying here, or speculating, that some business people are in town? Oh please give it a rest.

If you believe you know so much Oldham then stop faffing about with conjecture and riddles and just tell people what you ‘think’ you know. You can’t? Yes that’s right because you made it up, and you want to keep all your options open by not giving away ANY DETAILS.

If you throw enough darts at a dartboard, maybe thousands, at some point one of them will hit the bullseye. Unfortunately for Duncan he’s thrown so many darts without hitting the Bullseye over so many years that he needs a new dartboard. All that remains is an untouched bullseye.
