Duncan Oldham – man or otherwise?

I’ve not seen the original thread or post referred to by this thread’s starter. He made an apology, which Dunk responded to using the “KOPTALK.COM” id rather than his own.

Would just like to apologise once again for the schoolboy error I made with the thread on Alves. The thread was actually translated from a Gold-Club member and not somebody on the forums. I mis-read the thread.

Appreciated mate. At least you had the guts to admit it. You’re a man my son, a man

So, Duncan says the apology from SGPBITT (such a long username) is a good thing because he admitted his mistake. It makes him a man.

So is Dunk a man or a woman? Is there more to Katie than just a wig? Can Dunk admit a bit of embarrassing truth?

Tom was not banned but he’s chosen to tell everyone he is.

He was politely requested to submit feedback by email rather than post on the forums and he continually chose not to.

Instead a drama developed like in a school playground. We nipped it in the bud by deleting the thread.

We don’t need telling about Tom, we made him a Honorary Member. However he no longer wishes to be here.

As numerous people have said it’s very childish. As the majority of our members are only interested in LFC, we don’t do kiddie stuff on the forums. If anyone doesn’t like the way we moderate our forums, they don’t have to be a member here.

We’re now reporting spammers to their Internet Service Providers, email providers etc. If you continued to be spammed by anyone you can also report it to the police.

End of drama.

(One of his feedback requests were for members to have their avatars tamed down. For the benefit of everyone, you can disable avatars in your MY HOME section)

See Duncan – you are a bare-faced lying coward. You are too frightened to face your users if they are armed with even a little bit of knowledge about you. You’ve not got the guts. You know they’d not like you then. So we’ll keep this going one way or another and thanks to emails and the power google we’ll ensure everyone gets to hear the truth. When we’ve finished, maybe we’ll write a book (send no money now!).

Horsing around gets to Oldham

It all started off as just another day for Duncan. He logged on as “Koptalkinsider.coN” and published a news article about a striker that (according to comments elsewhere from visitors this blog) had already appeared on RAWK and YNWA. He also logged in as “The Informer” and created this piece of fiction.

Seems obsessed with horses now. Makes a change from greyhounds I suppose.

Kuyt and Klose

Feyenoord have lowered their asking price for Kuyt by £1m but the valuation is much higher than Liverpool are prepared to pay.

The horse has enquired to Werder Bremen about Miroslav Klose. Surprisingly they will let him leave to a non German club for around £8m.

I will be at the Anfield stadium this afternoon and may be able to obtain more information.

At this stage in the day Dunk was probably looking forward to another afternoon in the sun in the back yard, supping Asda’s own-brand cider and cursing the owner of the local kebab shop to anyone who’d listen. He could sit there relaxed, with nothing more to worry about than working out what kind of equestrian stories he’d be making up next time he logged in as “The Informer”.

Then a piece of cooling equipment in the Koptalk shed was impacted by some brown stuff. The insider member base got an email.

Dear Koptalker
Please accept my apologies for this uninvited email.

Last Wednesday in the gold and silver club I posted a genuine set of suggestions for improving the experience of everyone at Koptalk.

These took the form of a kind of 10 point manifesto for renewal that I hoped would start a serious debate about KT’s future and what we wanted as a community. The manifesto was a heartfelt attempt at stopping what I considered to be a decline in  the quality of user experience on the site and at no time was it intended to be an attack on the community or Duncan Oldham.

Unfortunately, like so many other recent posts on KT it was pulled after a mere 8 minutes by Dunk. Notwithstanding this I received 150 emails of support from KT people who either managed to see it during that time or were notified of it by other members later. I was later sent this email list of koptalk members by a Koptak Mod and told to “get this out there, people need to read it”. So I have.

About 3 hours after I made the original post I found that I had been banned from the site. I received a single email from Duncan Oldham telling me to put any feedback about the site into an email to Koptalk support.

I subsequently found out, that in response to KT members questions concerning my “disappearance” Duncan was saying that I hadn’t been banned and he’d sent me a number of emails to tell me.

This is a lie.

His banning of me (and subsequently many other long-standing KT’ers such as Fagan) was a completely over the top reaction to a serious post. Unfortunately that and other acts have confirmed for me that Koptalk has indeed gone over to “the dark side”.

You may have noticed that many of the a old familiar KT faces haven’t been around recently. That’s because
“the rebel alliance”  can now be found at: www.est1892.co.uk. Here you can breathe “the pure air of freedom”, and happily debate the reds to your hearts content without fear of “the daddy” snuffing you, and your posts out.

By the way, despite posting on KT since the late 1990s-  I never once, received any kind of thanks from Duncan for the “insider” information that I posted. Rude or cynical you decide, I certainly helped make him a shed-load of money.

best wishes
Tom

Cider abandoned, Katie-wig trampled, tonight’s podcast no doubt postponed, Duncan had to log in. He’s not been seen since.

Please check the Board Room.

Even though he’s not been seen since, I think there’s no doubt he got news of this. This post lasted minutes, but after Dunk had shunned his emailed (and reasonable) feedback, a certain former member of the pay sites felt it was appropriate to air his views about Koptalk on the “free” site.

I was a member of the Gold Club for about 3 years until recently. I have been locked out of late for daring to say (in an email to Dunk, like he asks) that the Gold Club was going downhill and isn’t the same that it used to be, and that I wouldn’t be renewing my subscription.

If you are thinking of joining the Gold Club then can I suggest that you have a look at this website first, to see the things that Dunk doesn’t want you to know. Then if you decide then to join up, then fair enough.

All you will hear on this site is positives (the bits that Dunk wants all potential subscribers to hear) this blog gives you some of the negatives. I have asked Dunk a few times now to remove my positive feedback from his Gold Club feedback page, and although he said he would do it last week, it still remains there.

It can’t be that bad or there wouldn’t be so many people subsribing to it and paying the money for it.

Lets get some other views.

well if Dunk allowed you to reply to this you would see another side. Check out the website

I bet “The Informer” forgets to do his update now.

Koptalk ban user for email feedback

Duncan Oldham is forever claiming that the reason he doesn’t like to hear feeback on his forums is because he doesn’t think other people want to hear it. Or because it’s easier to deal with if it’s emailed. Or (long list of other reasons that don’t really wash).

If the feeback’s positive, it stays on the forum, followed by a rant from Oldham about how 99.9% of the feeback he gets is like this. Then he locks the thread, to prevent anyone contradicting him.

If the feeback’s negative, it is removed from the forum. Even it it’s only slightly negative, more often than not it will be deleted. Along with the user-id of the person who posted it.

He’ll deny this – saying only jealous ex-members would say such things. Nonsense.

Q. What happens if you email him with negative, but constructive, feeback?

A. He bans you.

Most readers aren’t surprised to hear this, but we keep getting new members who take a week or two before they’ve seen enough to convince them of our arguments. So here’s some proof. Consider this post to be part of our own “Feedback” section – feeback to the liar who owns Koptalk.

Former Koptalk user, and still a paying member, Brian wrote in to us. He’d sent this to Dunk in an email -

I don’t know what is happening with all this post deleting today. As stated in another post that again was deleted, someone has posted Toms original post on another forum. There has been a lot of bad publicity surrounding Koptalk of late, and I think Tom was addressing this to try and rectify some of bad negativity, some good and valid comments were made, others that not everyone would agree to, but that was the whole point of the post, to gauge what could be done to improve things.

The post was intended to provide a bit of debate (in the Gold Club) to try and look at various ways of improving the site as well as its reputation, but then for it to be deleted and then posted onto another site, has probably caused more harm than good. In doing this, it has probably put off future potential memberships, money that is needed to keep the site running.

Nothing has been prevented as emails are going around now of the original post anyway, yes not all koptalkers will have seen the post, but many respected koptalkers have. Tom is a respected poster on here and also a honoury member, and I don’t think he was out to cause problems.

I just think the site has shot itself in the foot today.

Nothing really over-the-top. Nothing that Duncan should have been unable to take. He can’t though – criticism frightens him, and has done for years. He’s a bully, and doesn’t like getting a bit back. Not a bit of bullying, just a bit of honest criticism. He’s shit-scared his remaining members will find stuff out about him.

Brian got a reply from Duncan, asking if he’d reply with his username, so he “knew who he was talking to”. As soon as that happened Duncan locked Brian out, saying his details were not up-to-date. ANOTHER Oldham lie. Brian had updated his details with Oldham twice recently.

This is Brian’s feedback. Duncan won’t print this on his site, he can’t accept or face up to criticism, he thinks he’s right all the time. Which suits us, because it’s costing him more money for less visitors every day.

Dunk

As i have said before in an email to you, my details are up to date, as requested before on both signing up to the gold club and also for a competition you recently ran, that was after November, when you said you would be checking everyones details, that you keep going on about. Why is it that more details are needed? Surely i wouldn’t be able to access the free sites forums as well if this was the case.

It seems funny that i have been locked out since i questioned you about the deletion of Toms post last week, and also sending negative feedback for your Gold Club sign up page, and replacing it with the positive one i wrote about 2-3 years ago (which is still on the page, although you said you would remove it).

I was denied access as soon as you emailed me to ask what was my username, which i gave to you. I also told you i would not be renewing my subscription so this is just a matter of principle, I have paid for the service, so should be allowed to gain access. I have never broken any of the AUPs that you use on the site. So this leads me to think it is because of the emails last week.

Brian (ba75)

Keep up the good work Duncan, keep up the good work.

We thought we’d point this out seeing as Duncan Oldham keeps trying to say it’s the most popular fan site for Liverpool football club. It’s not doing badly, but it’s third out of the independant sites. And they don’t claim it costs them £900 per month to host their more popular sites.

UPDATED: I’ve fixed the links – somehow a sympathetic computer chip hijacked the links to three of the clips and stopped them working. Should all be OK now, but perhaps that computer chip was trying to tell us something.

Can’t face three quarters of an hour’s torture to your ears from Duncan? Here’s some clips to make it less of a punishment. Most of you will go no further than the first clip. The rest of you are just gluttons for punishment.
