Disillusionment at Koptalk – both sites

Things at Koptalk aren’t looking too rosy. The owner won’t admit that this blog is telling the truth. He wants to try and get rid of all members who might, just might, be slightly involved in the blog in any slight way. He’ll kick 100 users out to try and find 1 that might be involved. He’ll lose all his users at this rate.

On the Gold Club side of things people are unhappy. There are “honourary” members being locked out. There are “gold” members being locked out. Posters that people have a lot of respect for being prevented from getting in. The sign on the door says, “We don’t trust you, prove to us we should.” Reluctantly they try and prove they can be trusted. They are ignored. Despite what Dunk tells people, he’s only letting people back in if they call Steve’s mobile phone number and beg to be let back in. Even then, so many have been turned away because they can’t find that email. And some have actually only found out why they’ve been locked out by reading this blog.

So well done Dunk – you’re killing your site without us really trying any more.

Maybe when people are locked out it would help if there was a step by step guide to using a telephone and a list of questions they should ask steve when they phone him

Ring Steve! Nobody is locked out unless their sub has expired and they have chosen not to renew.

Even if someone won a sub or a life-time sub etc and they have lost their details (proof of entitlement) they will STILL get back in as various members can testify.

Do you not see Dunk? They don’t need to email you, or they shouldn’t. Some of those locked out are lifetime members, or those you’ve trusted enough in the past to make into “Honorary” members. Now you’re telling them where to go. And for every user who makes it known how upset they are, how many have chosen to just walk away quietly?

That community spirit is disappearing, and disappearing fast. Dunk’s too busy gunning down his members looking for us to notice. When he does notice, where will the remaining members be.

More pretence from the Koptalk shack

Koptalk would love you to think that their site is a multi-million pound operation run from a high tech hub in the centre of the earth. It’s actually a shed with a couple of computers in, descendants of one he begged for in the not-too-distant past, based in Newcastle.

Part of this attempted image building is using his words carefully to make something sound a little more professional than it really is. So when one of his site visitors mentions that he’s able to speak fluent Spanish, he becomes “Koptalk’s own professional translator”. Maybe a little pedantic, but surely if he’s Koptalk’s own he works exclusively for Koptalk, and if he’s professional he doesn’t do it for free. So in reality he’s “The Professional Translator who works on the side for free for Koptalk”.

The only thing that is certain at the moment is he is a Sevilla player and his position will be under threat from Andreas Hinkel, one of four new signings made over the summer.

Daniel revealed: “I don’t know him” but was pleased with his arrival as it increased “competition for places” and “will make us more careful and hungry to play”.

He only had good wishes for him: “I hope that he can bring a lot to the team”

* the club are still confident of landing Alves, and it seems that he will be purchased to play as a right-back and not as a right midfielder.

* Kromkamp has not settled and will be sold if the right offer comes along

* Joaquin is a definite no go

* It seems we can’t even give Djimi Traore away…

* Barragan’s fee was in the region of EUR1 Million (ca. 600,000 GBP), although this could be just a down payment with more to follow.

* We are still very, very, interested in Kuyt

* Even some of our coaching staff have not seen the new home shirt… adidas has purposely leaked a number of fake designs onto the interweb and there are apparently up to 30 different designs floating about…

It’s all typical rumour-writing from Oldham. All of it sounds like updates from 2, 3, 4 years ago, he’s just changed the names.

Will the mole be digging up Chris Waddle’s garden?

Dunk pretends his contacts at the club include board members, scouts, players, players’ friends, gatemen, player’s girlfriends and so on. The list is never ending. Sometimes he says that’s who his contacts are, other times he leads his believers towards that conclusion.

One of his regular aliases is as “The Anfield Mole”.  He pretends this is a player at the club, so he doesn’t have to bother posting during the close-season.

Updates used to be far more frequent. It was widely believed that Danny Murphy was the provider. Obviously, he hasn’t been around for a while. Since he left updates have been far scarcer.

The transfer window is always busy mate… I daren’t go out. Was supposed to be in Liverpool from Sunday but was told to hold back so I’m kind of restless  

So Dunk, has she thrown you out? Or did she just leave?

As for Danny Murphy being the Anfield Mole, Dunk let his members believe it was. In the end it was pretty obvious how Dunk way lying when Murphy left Anfield without any advance warning given out by Lardie.  Another site got the scoop on that story.

Dunk’s also tried to let his readers think that “Cricket69″ is John Barnes – clearly not though as more than once Cricket69’s posts have come at a time inconsistent with his actual whereabouts. Like him posting from the studio on the set of a TV programme he was working for.

Then again, it’s not just Liverpool players he’s mates with…

Owner and self-styled “editor” of Koptalk, Duncan Oldham, says this blog isn’t something that bothers him, nor does he read it.

Oldham changed his avatar to that of Del and Rodney from Only Fools and Horses dressed up as Batman and Robin.

One of his unfortunate customers (or one of our spies, we’ve got a good few in there now) asked him if it was some kind of clue to a transfer. We know of course it won’t be, Dunk hasn’t a clue about transfers himself, but the customer had to ask. Dunk’s answer?

We have referred to Duncan, Steve and Mum Jeanette as Fatman, Robin and Fatwoman in the past, maybe that’s another part of his reasoning behind the avatar change.

Del IS on of his aliases from the past, when dodgy Sky cards were being sold on the net. Dodgy for a number of reasons. First of all they were pirated cards, second of all they didn’t work, third of all they didn’t get sent out in most cases.

Someone was pencilled in (never confirmed) to fly in later this week. No specific day was mentioned. They’re due to fly in to the north west but we don’t know if this is into Liverpool or Manchester.

I planned to stay in Liverpool from Sunday to Sunday but same source told me to hold back as a result of the Italian fiasco.

It could be that we go this Sunday to the following Sunday with activity next week. As soon as I get a fresh update we’ll know more.

Nobody of interest has been to Melwood in the last week or so as we have someone on the gate now supplying us snippets.

If anything’s going to happen this week I’d assume it would be Friday now. We’ll know the minute arrives at Melwood regardless. However I fancied a few days out of the office so was planning a bit of a recon in the north west.

A medical can be arranged in no time but when the club ‘pencil’ one in they circulate specific instructions to safety/security personnel because you get more fans, more media etc crowding the gates and basically floating around Melwood and Anfield.

A photographer working for The Daily Mirror has been circulating the back of Melwood with a long lense since Monday. That usually only happens for new signings or if there has been some kind of topical bust-up. If you go down today you’ll see him sat on the roof of his 4×4. I spoke to him yesterday and he hasn’t seen a thing.. awww bless.

The Daily Mirror tend to be hot on the ins and outs of Melwood as one of their sports journos is especially close to 3 or 4 players. So if they’re there you just know something’s looming.

Personally I’m concentrating more on this Italian farce now. The sooner we find out what’s happening there the better.

No mention of Chrissie Waddle. No mention of why he actually only managed to take on photo of the first day back at pre-season training. Remember – he’d promised us more once he got back to the office. Dunk’s got the Mirror photographer’s phone number too then has he?
