Koptalk rethink their ill-thought-out “charity” appeal

Our continuing publicity of Duncan Oldham and Koptalk’s various scams has had a few positive results so far, but perhaps this one is the most obvious.

Fatty has taken his website down that he had claimed was dedicated to his cousin Lauren.

Instead of the site that had previously requested donations for Lauren, to be made payable to “J Oldham”, Dunk’s mum, the site now redirects to the Scope Website.

laurenforsythcomcache.jpg Note who the donations should be made payable to. Note also the address to where they should be sent (Koptalk “HQ”).

I’d still recommend you use the real Scope address if you want to donate to them – www.scope.org.uk.

It’s good to see that at last Lauren may actually benefit from the donations.

Someone has been in touch to point out that they got on the phone to Koptalk to ask about the site, and why donations had to be paid to “J Oldham”. They didn’t answer the question, choosing instead to replace the receiver. Perhaps Koptalk would be so kind to explain this to us instead – koptalk.insider @ gmail.com.

And for the record, www.laurenforsyth.co.uk still redirects to – Koptalk.

Fat Dunk merchandise.

One of the readers of this blog has set this little shop up -
http://www.comboutique.com/shop/homeboutique-10044.html

He’s set it up so that there’s a small profit on each item, and all of this will go to the HJC.

Anybody else want to set some shops up?

Koptalk Gossip: Medical midweek?

An article from yesterday. We missed it, thanks for pointing it out (you know who you are). And it’s free as always…

People are saying Balague has mentioned a couple of Italian based players that are under consideration and according to someone who deals with the transport side of things at the club, Parry and Clayton are going to Italy this weekend.

I don’t know if the Balague stuff is gen as I was out this morning but I have no reason to doubt the Italy trip but I can’t nail the days/dates down yet. The Italian whispers have been going on a while (before the legal stuff over there but maybe Rafa knew what was coming).

As we know someone from the club (top brass) are/were in Madrid. I don’t know if this is RP and KC or someone else.

Meanwhile I’m told we have a medical pencilled in for this week (Weds, Thurs?). I’ve also been provided with details of specific flights to watch and we’ll be mobile during the week as a result.

I will be on Merseyside/The North West all week. I’ll be there from Sunday > Sunday.

Koptalk: No time for WAP, we’ll stick to crap.

Some questions for Dunk about the return of Koptalk Radio and the introduction of WAP.

Sheffield United away will be the first game mate. We might be on for the pre-season games but without a feed we’d really have to waffle more than we usually do.

Steve will be doing most of the home games this season as I want to start getting back at the games again. My attendance has been limited these last couple of seasons due to the site.

The service, feature, whatever you want to call it is just a laugh. Some people expect some kidn of professional output as they forget we’re just a fans site so when they tune in and hear us two eating our dinners they tend to cry a bit.

We had a good laugh last season though. We’ve talked to the big cheese and they have informed us what is acceptable in terms of promoting it and what we can and cannot say hence the constant reminder that it’s unofficial!

Cheers for the info D.

Little off topic but is there anything in the future regarding Koptalk via wap/gprs? Heavy pages makes it a bit painful at the moment. Would be awesome if there was a text-version of KT!

Not that I’m addicted or anything, but it’s nice to log in and check the latest while chilling on the beach

We’ve toyed around with the wap stuff before for news etc but I’m not sure there’s a big demand for it to warrant time, which is already limited.

Now I could be wrong here, but I feel there’s a lot of the readers of this blog who can’t wait for KT Radio to come back on air again. Some of them probably know how to record such things, and edit them down into highlights.

It will be the Koptalk Insider Insider Podcast – if anyone bothers.
It will no doubt feature readers of this blog calling in to speak to him.

Who’s the “big cheese” by the way? Which “big cheese” in particular? The one at the Premier League, at LFC, at the service provider for the Internet Radio service he uses? His mum? His stepdad? His socks?

As for WAP – I’ll leave it to our more knowledgeable web developer type visitors to comment on that.

Due to the recent attraction of every comment Dunk makes he has decided not to discuss the matter further.

I was just thinking how nice it would be just once to actually post about something where Dunk had actually told the truth. We like this new policy though – refusing to speak because we are watching. (Remember, this blog doesn’t bother him).

Wikipedia article.

The following was posted as a comment here earlier – it’s worth reading before going to Wikipedia to add your views to the deletion discussion. Try to think before putting your view forward, you might want to read the guidelines mentioned too before posting anything.

Hi everyone,

Please don’t waste your time trying to rig the “vote”. It is a not a vote, but a discussion. Anything you post will likely lead to you being ignored (or banned from Wikipedia for persistent vandals/trolls) if:

1) You do not sign your post with a username that has some substantial history of previously contributing to Wikipedia.
2) You do not base your reasoning on Wikipedia’s policies and guidelines (many of which are already being cited and linked to in the AfD.

Yours sincerely,

It’s no real worry if the page does get deleted – the majority of Dunk’s “victims” are Liverpool fans, and more and more of them are gaining awareness of what he’s about. Ideas for other ways of mopping up the rapidly decreasing number of Liverpool supporters who don’t know would be welcomed.

Maybe someone should set up a football wiki (NOT OLDHAM!). The software used by Wikipedia is actually opensource, so it’s easily done.

(I fully expect an overweight foreigner-hating Newcastle supporter to rush out and buy the WiKOPedia.com domain name now).

Should Koptalk be removed from Wikipedia?

Just found this in the comments for one of the articles here…

URGENT MESSAGE!!!!
————————————————————————————

The Wikipedia entry for KopTalk (http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koptalk) is to be deleted. You can stop this from happening by going to:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Koptalk

Edit the page and put:
””’Strongly oppose””’ –

Followed by your reasons for wanting to keep the article.

DON’T LET DUNK GET RID OF THE WIKIPEDIA ENTRY

Off you go, but remember to be careful in what you write. Mr Oldham is (like he does on FusionBB.com) pretending to be a fine upstanding member of the community. You need to sound like you are too, if you know what I mean? If you can think of examples of other wikipedia articles similar to Koptalk (or perhaps a replacement “Duncan Oldham” entry) then you have more arguments to use against the person who wants it deleted. Try to resist the temptation to refer to his weight – you can do that here instead!

See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Koptalk for a discussion on the Koptalk page itself.

UPDATE: Remember, be sensible with what you write, it’s not a vote, it’s a way of putting your point forward.
