Where’s the photos? (And the book?)

Dunk’s big plans for the new season included provision of photos. Depending on which version of the bullshit he was coming out with, the photos would be taken by him or by “The Koptalk Photographer”. He was planning to spend thousands on it. Anyone who believes him is of course right to ask, “Where’s the photos?” It seems they have befallen the same fate as the infamous book…

‘This site is currently undergoing maintenance.’

Try later mate.
- – - – - – - – - -

Why not let the Koptalk Photographer know about the problems with his site then Dunk? That was a link to his site you gave us. Maybe he’s making changes to it, so it now says, “In association with the 4th most popular LFC Fan Site” or something. Come to think about it, why haven’t you got any photos of the game on your own sites? Is there something you’re not telling us?

Meanwhile, Dunk’s carrying on talking about the story he lifted from his favourite rag, The Sun.

Chelsea and Kuyt
#1579776 – Sun Jul 30 2006 10:47 PM

No way do I believe they want him. I don’t even believe they have sniffed around him.

To me this is just Kenyon getting that out to the press so that it gets picked up and fed back to Feyenoord so that they think Chelsea may make an approach i.e. the fee stays high or increases. This is just Chelsea’s attempt to try and stop us.

Funny and flattering in one way but damn annoying in another.

I hope you realise that the saying ‘Dunk Knows Best’ is just a pop at people to try and wind them up… I’m not really that far up my own…
- – - – - – - – - -

So Dunk went out and bought his “DunkKnowsBest.coN” domain just to wind people up? Did it wind you up? No, nor me. Makes him look all the more of a prat to think that such things would wind people up. Just because people buy domains likes www.koptalksucks.com to wind him up (with success), buying “DunkKnowsBest” confirms the sadness of the loony Toon.
Someone was asking for help with ticket exchanges. Someone said they couldn’t provide help because there was no email address in the original poster’s profile. That’s because Duncan changed the code behind the user-info pages to hide the email addresses – he’s frightened to death that users are talking to each other about the blog. The blog he’s not bothered about. His Xbox mate Smooch is on the case, doing more of Dunk’s lying for him.

anytime people need to exchange info you can call Steve or email editor@koptalk.com
- – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Don’t give your email address out on Koptalk because other Koptalk members might try to get in touch with you. And they might speak about Dunk’s “problems” with a blog.

Thanks to the Big “O” for letting us know the alternative way to exchange ticket information. By the way, ask Duncan if he’s planning to sell any LFC tickets at massive multiples of their face value this season. If you approve of touting then fair enough, but if not then whatever you do don’t let Duncan act as a go-between for tickets. There’s plenty of other forums with facilities for people to swap tickets or buy/sell at the right price (not a tout’s price).

We’re still waiting for some of Dunk’s photographic evidence of various things. 1) His season ticket for Anfield. 2) His lottery tickets that he uses as part of his marketing for the Gold Club. He scanned some in once, we’ve not seen any since, and we don’t believe he actually buys the tickets every week. 3) His pools syndicate entries. Similar to the Lotto tickets, but we’ve not even seen one week’s proof of this. 4) His tattoo. Not something I expect would be a pretty sight, but with his love of putting photos of his lunch on his site so often surely a pic of his tattoo wouldn’t take long. I’ve never heard him mention his tattoo before, but maybe he really has got one.

I wonder if he’s got his name as a tattoo somewhere – remember when he claimed recently that Duncan Oldham wasn’t his real name? Even though it’s on his wedding reception menu? Maybe he puts “Duncan LFC” on his left arm and “Barry NUFC” on his right arm. No idea where he puts his Spurs and Leeds tattoos though, and I’d rather not know to be honest.

Finally, for now, how about this question from Smooch’s mate…

Which MLS team shall I support? And what about you?
#1579340 – Sun Jul 30 2006 04:18 PM

New England Revolution or Red Bull New York? You can suggest others but Smoove and I are going to try and get into the MLS stuff. I fancy Red Bull New York as they haven’t really won much lol!

I’d also like to allocate a team to other members so that they become your US team for a competition that I plan to launch for their next season.

It’d be naff if you picked a team yourself so it should be done randomly. It just gives us an interest, especially if there’s a prize at the end of it for someone.. maybe everyone who suppors that particular club if you like.

A bit of rivalry would be on the forums here also between us which could prove a bit of a laugh.

What do you think?

Daft question (in my opinion) for at least two reasons.

Number 1, any team with the word “Bull” in their name has to be ideal for North Yorkshire biggest exporter of bull for many years, before he moved to Tyne and Wear.

Number 2 – why not take the same policy as he does in the English League? Support a few teams. Duncan claims to support Liverpool (but can’t prove he has the season ticket he claims to have), Newcastle (and has taken pictures of the Liverpool game from his seat at St James’s, also calls himself Barry when he’s working on his upthetoon.coN site), Spurs (he owns www.spursarmy.coN), Nottm Forest (he was going to set up a fan site for them) and Leeds (he supported them as a kid before switching to LFC). He’s been paying Chelsea a lot of attention lately, maybe he’s got plans for a site for them next.

A new plan needs a new van

I looked at this again and again and again, trying to come up with something to say about it. I struggled. I managed only this -

Photography experts – Van dealerships too
#1579357 – 30/07/06 04:35 PM
1) Anyone know much about professional photography? I want to buy a paparazzi style camera and lense this season for use when we go on missions. Sell us a camera

2) Been trawling dealership for a van for the site. We have a small Corsa van but we want something Ford Transit size so we can have a mobile office in the back. Sell us a van

——————–
DunkBullshitsBest.com

Sorry, I couldn’t do anything but laugh. I’ve composed myself a bit now.

So what’s the loony Toon got in mind now? What is this the start of? Last time he started coming out with this fantasy stuff he started his plans to buy Chris Waddle’s home overlooking Melwood, where he was going to fit CCTV cameras. Remember? He probably doesn’t, because it was all bullshit (see previous post).

I noticed he’s also got his mate Smooch on the Insider site now. His last mate, the one he met through playing games on the XBox I believe. The one who probably didn’t see Dunk’s comments about foreigners on his blog. Not his current blog, or the one before that (including its 4 or 5 versions) but the one before that. He’s had more blogs than sign-ups this year.

Maybe he’s planning to start some kind of A-Team for the Koptalk Insider members. Now Smooch has turned up he’s got enough members left – Dunk, Smooch, Steev and Rich Tea.  I think that’s right isn’t it? Four members? Dunk is quite clearly mad enough to be Murdoch, but Murdoch was actually fairly useful.

stevie_sees_fatty.jpgMaybe (as someone said in an email to me) he’s got plans to start supplying his favourite paper (The Sun) with some photos. Well he may have to use a long lens to get photos of players now after all. His relationship with Propaganda seems to have come to an end, he’s stopped using their photos now. Perhaps he was asked to pay up front, and Propaganda don’t take blank postal orders or paypal. Perhaps Duncan was actually asked to pay a big part of that 12k (from memory) he claimed he’d be shelling out on photos this season. Perhaps Propaganda didn’t like being called “Koptalk’s photographer”. We didn’t get a reply though, so this is all guess work. Propaganda have got photos from yesterday’s game on their site though, so it’s not like Duncan to have missed this opportunity. Will he still have his “official representatives” at every big LFC event this coming season?

Sorry, I’ve just read his post again, and now need to laugh quite loudly. “Missions”? “Mobile Office”?

Any other ideas on why “The Wool with the Bull” might want to buy this van and camera? Or more to the point, what this week’s fantasy is going to be?

(If you’re new to this blog you’ll maybe not know this, but I’m not bothered about Dunk being an “OOTer” or a “Wool”, despite his occasional claims that it’s one of our motivations. I just thought “The Wool with the Bull” was appropriate.)

More bull from Wallsend

This evening I’m going to look at recent examples of Mr Oldham’s main skill – bullshitting. Duncan is proof that “practice makes perfect” is a very poor saying. He practices every day, but he’s crap at it. He trips himself up far too often to be considered any good. Practice does not make perfect.
His bullshit ranges from the minor to the major. Telling his readers he wore a Sun hat because he didn’t know about the boycott is a lie, and fairly major for the owner of a Liverpool website. Banning members for minor indiscretions or even for asking simple questions then saying, “They aren’t banned” is minor bullshit on the grand scale of things, but not really the actions of someone who’s trying to drum up more trade using his “community” as  a reason for parting with cash. He can’t claim they’ll get insider information in his “insider” site, they don’t. He bullshits about that too.

Here’s a minor bit of bullshit. More exaggeration than anything. He doesn’t like criticism – he admits himself his podcast is the biggest pile of audio crap in Great Britain (well if he doesn’t he should). But you aren’t allowed to repeat this yourself.

Thousands listen every day! Duncan, you’ve no longer got “thousands” of members, never mind thousands of members who’ll listen to your crap. It really is awful. That’s not a crime, nothing wrong with that – I doubt anyone listened to it twice though. And saying “thousands” is, well – bullshit.

How about this one for Bull? Dunk wants “cash in hand” for insider memberships – so much so that he’ll knock you a tenner off the price. Explain it to us please Dunk…

*** SPECIAL OFFER – SIGN UP OFFLINE AND SAVE £10 ***

Sign-up offline (by post) sending a blank postal order or cash and pay only:

£10.00 for an Insider membership – save £10.00

£20.00 for a Gold Club membership (which includes a free Insider membership) – save £10.00

Discount is available via this method as we don’t have to pay any credit card handling fees or bank charges. Use the same instructions and address as detailed above. You MUST ensure your payment is not visible through the envelope. We advise you pay for recorded delivery to ensure your payment reaches us which costs 66p extra i.e. 96p in total first class. If you do not use recorded delivery and your application goes missing then you should contact Royal Mail as we will not be held responsible for items lost in the post. Unfortunately some people try it on. The discounted rate is applicable to new applications only.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the costs of taking a payment of either £20 or £30 via PayPal are not £10. Do I need to spell out why you want cash in hand for these memberships? Bent? I’d say so. It’s just bullshit of you to claim you’re knocking a tenner off because of the saving on bank charges.

The stuff above is one part of his sales blurb for the Gold Club. Like this -

Secret *links to FREE online audio commentary when available
Secret *links to FREE online live video footage of LFC games when available (99% of games covered in 2005-06)
Secret *links to FREE LFC video downloads for your iPod, PC etc when available. Some games can be downloaded in full!

Three reasons to join the Gold Club, all of which are illegal. That’s thirty quid for him in return for stuff that isn’t actually his. He does try (badly) to say it’s not his responsibility…

* KopTalk does not have an archive of any video or audio footage nor do we stream games. Members can assist in helping you watch the Reds live online. Links to video clips of LFC goals, interviews etc are provided by members when available. As a member if you discover anything that breaches copyright, please report this to us and we will see such content is removed. During the 2005-06 season 99% of Liverpool’s games were shown live via the web for free. Receiving such transmissions online may breach copyright, KopTalk does not condone this. KopTalk does not provide any form of software that will allow you to watch or download any kind of LFC video content. If you want to follow Liverpool to the max, a Gold Club sub will help you achieve this.

He does have archives of video and audio footage – don’t believe that bit of bullshit.

He doesn’t stream games, I’ll give him that – he just has a forum dedicated to links to the streams, provided by a member of his site that has been given moderator status. Although that member doesn’t get paid for his work providing the links, he does earn money for Oldham.

When he says “members can assist” he means that particular moderator.

For “Links…provided by members when available” read links provided by members and also by Duncan, Steve, “Koptalkinsider.coN” and that username he created the other week.

Koptalk even put the video files onto their own servers. And if a member reported it he’d ban them (unless they reported it to Sky and the Premier League rather than to him).

So far it’s all bullshit, and to be honest I’d be less bothered about it and would probably be willing to turn a blind eye to it if he wasn’t insisting on charging people 30 quid each to get this stuff he’s never paid for.

How about this for bullshit – “Receiving such transmissions online may breach copyright, KopTalk does not condone this.” It’s almost funny – he doesn’t condone it yet he uses it to sell his 30 quid service.

Greedy liar that he is, he probably thinks this disclaimer gets him off the hook. It doesn’t. Especially when you end your disclaimer with this – “If you want to follow Liverpool to the max, a Gold Club sub will help you achieve this.”

Anyone got the email address for the people to report this to? Please either send it to me by email or leave it as a comment. Then anyone else who’s irritated can report it.

I’d forgotten how irritated I was by his money-making in this way. Let’s face it, Liverpool FC and the other Premiership clubs should be pressing for the rights to provide this service legally themselves, but in the meantime why should a repulsive Sun-supporter make money out of it in this way? This was one of his news articles yesterday (suitably written to get it onto News Now’s feed).

Kaiserslautern v Liverpool – AVAILABLE TO WATCH ONLINE (FREE)

Gold Club members are reporting that there will be several online (free) feeds of today’s match that will enable supporters to watch it live via their internet connected computers.

We are unable to promote the feeds on the site as it may be illegal in your country of residence, not that anyone’s going to put your front door in. We simply can’t help you as Big Brother is watching. However our Gold Club members may be able to help you.

Gold members are advised to log-in for full details of today’s coverage –>> (LInks to gold club sales page)

KOPTALK DOES NOT STREAM LIVE FOOTBALL OF ANY DESCRIPTION. SUCH STREAMS/CONTENT – BE THEY LEGAL OR ILLEGAL – ARE PROVIDED BY OTHER SOURCES GENERALLY FROM OUTSIDE THE UK. PLEASE DON’T ASK US FOR HELP BUT BY ALL MEANS ASK OTHER MEMBERS.

Gold Club members? He means the moderator we spoke of above. The one he gave his own section of the forum to. Whether it’s legal or not is a point of some debate, but he shouldn’t be doing it – and he knows this. I doubt very much it is legal, but selling a subscription to members so that they can get this information is almost certainly highly illegal. And as for bullshit – well he ends with this – “PLEASE DON’T ASK US FOR HELP BUT BY ALL MEANS ASK OTHER MEMBERS.”

Don’t ask for help? Explain this then Duncan -

editor@koptalk.com
- – - – - – - – -

A minor bit of bullshit in the midst of some major bullshit. And a minor bit of dodginess in the midst of some pretty major dodginess.

If you approve of Dunk’s support of the Sun (he’s still going on about the story he lifted from there yesterday), AND if you accept that the Insider information he claims to provide is in fact bullshit, AND if you don’t mind the fact that the “community” he claims is so great is nearly gone, you might still think that it’s worth joining for the feeds and the clips. Well I can’t see them being around much longer, so I’d hold back for now. And if Dunk continues to make money out of the feeds, then we’ll have to take steps ourselves to make them as freely available as we make his fake transfer rumours.

That’s if he can afford to keep his sites running, if the following stuff was true he’d not have a chance. Not even a small chance -

From his poor grey blog which look as dull as it sounds -

Hosting Solutions

Part of my job is to ensure that people who want to connect to any of our servers can do so without having to endure any problems. The koptalk.org forums have been experiencing outages nearly every day throughout the summer and this is not acceptable.

The koptalk.org forums are hosted with 1&1. Their servers are mainly hosted in Germany. This doesn’t affect the speed of the server much – although it doesn’t improve it – and support can be hit and miss.

I demand the absolute best from any of our suppliers. A friendly, informal relationship is preferred where you can talk about footy etc rather than technical stuff which does my head on. Sometimes you have to be realistic and understand that problems can happen but as far as I’m concerned they’re taking the piss now.

As such I have for the last few weeks been negotiating with a couple of new hosts. I’m actually looking at moving the koptalk.org website to the North West of England which should speed things up a lot. Not only that but we’re stepping up in terms of the quality of supplier. 1&1 are massive but their support is nothing short of a disgrace.

The koptalk.org server currently costs no more than £200-a-month. I’m not sure exactly how much, it’s probably about £180. If I move the koptalk.org site, the new cost for that single server will be closer to £900-a-month – and that’s just for one set of forums. I could look at cheaper options but if you demand the best, you pay the price. Simple as.

We have koptalk.com, koptalk.org and koptalkinsider.com – all three sites receive a massive amount of traffic. Where people think we can get the wonga to pay for the kind of hosting we need without having a subscription site is beyond me.

There isn’t another fans site in the world that offers the amount of content, features and services that we do. That doesn’t mean we’re the best, but it does mean someone, somewhere has to pay for it all. To compare their situations with ours is a pretty stupid thing to do.

Totalling up what I expect us to spend on next season’s coverage is terrifying me. Everyone here though says we’ll do it if we knuckle down. I’m really hoping that next season will be our best. I hope people appreciate the effort, time and money that we do invest to try and provide them with a website that keeps them entertained and up to date.
posted by Dunk @ Friday, July 21, 2006

And from his so-called “free” site, dated the same day -

21/07/06: Because of the intermittent connection problems we are upgrading to a more professional solution. The annual hosting cost just for these forums will then increase to £8000 from £2160. We hope this shows how much we value your participation. The work should be complete by the end of July.

So on “Dunk-knows-bugger-all.com” he says it’s going to increase to 900 quid a month. On his Koptalk site he claims it will be 8000 quid a year. We’ll 900 quid a month is 10,800 quid a year. 8000 quid a year is 667 quid a month. So Dunk – is the monthly cost 900 quid or 667 quid? Is the annual cost 8000 quid or 10,600?
We expect your move of servers to be complete in a couple of days too – and we’ll be checking out who your new service provider is and ask them what we’d be getting for £10,600 a year.

If you’re going to bullshit at least try and stay consistent. As I said earlier, practice doesn’t make perfect. Just makes you look all the more a complete bullshitter.

And people don’t like shelling out to bullshitters.

How best to leave Koptalk

Another disgruntled customer of Koptalk.

Is he now banned? Will he get a refund? I think we know the answers.

Thanks to one of our spies for getting these screenshots before Oldham got wind of it.

bfro01.jpgbfro02.jpgbfro03.jpg 3

If you’re going to leave Koptalk after finding out you wasted your money, this is the way to do it. Although a red from Zambia seems 100% behind Dunk according to his comments here, it’s actually probably only 99.9% now. And that 0.1 of a percent is the start of the crack that soon grows bigger and bigger, as more and more doubt starts to creep in.

Koptalk and The Sun yet again.

I spent a good bit of time this morning responding to a comment from “Garland” who said that we should not be discussing Duncan Oldham’s support of The Sun on this blog. I don’t want to get into a debate over whether or not The Sun should be boycotted. I don’t want to get into a debate over whether or not LFC fans who are seen reading The Sun should be told gently that it’s not really suitable reading material for a Red.

If I’m completely missing something please tell me, but as far as I know the boycott of The Sun is still on, and for good reasons. It’s one of many examples of, to put it lightly, mistreatment of Liverpool relating to the event of 1989. I use the word “Liverpool” in the sense of the city, its citizens, the club, its supporters, the families and friends of those who died, those who were injured (physically or mentally/emotionally) and of course, those who died. Boycotting The Sun is an important part of what Liverpool supporters must do to try and bring about justice for the ninety-six on so many different levels.

Duncan Oldham supports The Sun. That is why I concentrate on that particular issue. If Oldham started to go against the vast majority of Liverpool supporters in their support of the actions being taken over the others issues related to Hillsborough then rest assured I’d be covering those too.

If the feelings of a good proportion of Liverpool supporters change and they decide it’s time to lift the boycott of The Sun, then I’ll stop mentioning the subject in relation to Duncan Oldham. So please, if that ever happens during the lifetime of this blog, let me know.

Why does Duncan Oldham support The Sun?

Well he buys it (or bribes his paperboy) every day. His recent PR stunt of setting fire to copy was followed by him mentioning that he had to go out and buy another copy of it. It’s bad enough he buys it, but to brag about it for a bit of attention is quite sickening.

Why does he buy it?

I’d say, from the way he acts on his websites, that he enjoys reading it. I’ve no doubt whatsoever on that score. It also gives him an opportunity to find out gossip that other Reds just won’t have heard about. The only time I’m ever going to be aware of what The Sun says is if a reporter holds up a copy on the TV news discussing tomorrow’s papers or if I read another website that mentions the stories. If Duncan then prints that story on his site, I can tell where it came from. I can even do a search on various internet search engines to see if the story is listed anywhere else. If I’ve not read those other websites, or seen the TV news, or if the story wasn’t mentioned in those places, Duncan gets a story out without many (if any) LFC fans knowing where it came from. So as well as enjoying reading it, he gets to generate some more hits for his site. No other LFC site will appear on NewsNow with that story. He doesn’t even need to use his misleading headlines to get his hits.

Once most LFC fans realise where he gets these stories from they join our boycott of his site.

How else does he support it?

Every day Duncan cuts and pastes in full the “Gossip Column” from the BBC website. He leaves in all the articles about other clubs and their transfer gossip, which is fair enough from the general interest point of view. He also leaves in the gossip from The Sun. With a disclaimer at the bottom stating he can’t do anything about it. As anyone who’s ever used “Cut and Paste” in their lives can tell you, he can do something about it. He’s a liar though. And if that headline he prints from The Sun entices one gullible supporter to go out and buy the paper, or visit the website of The Sun, then he has helped, in a small way, to support The Sun.

Today he’s decided to take the story from The Sun. I knew this story was from The Sun because I saw some of his members chatting away freely about it. They had seen it on the BBC’s gossip page. Sixteen words in all were used by the BBC to describe the story. Chelsea, Liverpool, Dirk and Kuyt were four of the words. It’s a nonsense story, not worth paying any attention to. Yet Oldham felt it was worth using to make himself some more money.

I wasn’t really sure how to approach this on the blog. Re-printing Duncan’s story is almost as bad as him printing it in the first place. But for once I think it’s worthwhile – I hope you understand my reasons.

The BBC said this -

Chelsea are hoping to swoop to beat Liverpool to the signature of Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt. (The Sun)

         Chelsea linked with Kuyt swoop
#1577766 – Sat Jul 29 2006 09:24 AM
According to newspaper reports in the UK today, Chelsea have approached Feyenoord to discuss a possible move for Liverpool target Dirk Kuyt.

It is claimed that Jose Mourinho sees Kuyt as the ideal replacement for Hernan Crespo.

Liverpool tabled a fresh bid for the striker recently and it was hoped that he would be Anfield bound within the next week as negotiations had been going well.

However, if reports of Chelsea’s interest are true, Liverpool will have to pull out of the race to sign him because Feyenoord will increase the asking price rather than negotiate it down.
I’ve not been on every website of every UK newspaper, and I’ve not been out and bought any newspapers today. I’ve searched News Now and Google News. The only places I can find this story are BBC (as said above), Sporting Life (their page looking at the papers) and Koptalk. NewsNow don’t include The Sun on their Liverpool FC news feed.

So when Duncan Oldham says, “According to newspaper reports in the UK today,” he means “ACCORDING TO THE SUN”. The fact he knows the amount of details he’s put in shows he’s read the paper. Yet again.

He’s already listed in the “Top Stories” section on News Now with this article. He’ll be the only LFC site to report it too, because no other Liverpool FC website would go near that newspaper’s stories.

How can any Liverpool FC Website owner justify this level of support of The Sun?

I’ve said it before – boycott the Sun supporting Koptalk.coN.

Touching cloth at Koptalk HQ

Duncan Oldham’s headline reminded me of a saying that I personally hadn’t heard until a Geordie said it one day. Without being too graphic about this, where some people might say things about turtle’s heads, this Geordie spoke of “Touching Cloth”. As soon as I saw this headline today, I subconsciously mixed up “Touching Base” and “Bull Shit” and got “Touching Cloth”.

Sorry to go on. Duncan’s latest update…

The source touches base
#1577171 – Fri Jul 28 2006 08:40 PM
While recording tonight’s podcast – which we had to scrap as a result and record it again – my source touched base regarding investment.

None of the interested parties (*the individual potential investors of which there are more than 1) are approaching the club because Moores doesn’t want to sell.

I could talk more and more about it but it’s boring. If you really need to know listen to tonight’s podcast that will be on the site soon.

Nobody believes the club will have any money come 28th September, they are all expecting Parry to say that they are exploring other avenues of investment etc etc etc blah blah blah.

Reports in the local press this week claimed the club are talking to parties and are at an “advanced stage”. No coincidence that this was published just before the Objective 1 committee meeting.

You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours, right?

No more finance and investment talk from me until September

* There are several people, persons, interested parties but none are making moves. Although all out for themselves, they all share the same opinion that Moores doesn’t want to sell and until he comes out and says he does, they’ll hold back because there’s not approaching if Moores won’t go further. In my opinion the club are trying to hold off on investment and just try and find a sponsor for the stadium. Kenyon’s out of the country working on commercial partnerships… Parry’s watching the lads train.

Told you it was bullshit. I really don’t know where to start with it, so I’d appreciate if one of you financial experts that read this blog would leave some comments on the issues. I’ll point out the bit that nobody in their right mind would have to stop a podcast recording and then have to re-start it because of one phone call. Even in bygone times when people recorded things on cassette recorders they had a pause button. Duncan probably thinks they filmed Lord of The Rings in one take. Sorry, I’ve gone full circle here, we started off talking about rings.

I think the bit about holding back just in case Moores won’t go further was another quite funny bit, but I’d like someone who understands these things better than me to rip this to shreds. The only other financial advice I’ll give here is to save your thirty quid, because that’s the sort of crap you’d be paying for on the Insider.
Just wanted to point out very briefly how the signs that Koptalk is dying are there for all to see. This post from someone who’s been a member for nearly four years is a good indication of the decline of Duncan’s empire -

What had happened? Have I missed something?
#1576746 – Fri Jul 28 2006 04:13 PM
Friday afternoon when nobody in their right mind wants to do any work yet Koptalk hasn’t had more than 64 users all afternoon! Where is everybody?

What have I missed?
- – - – - – - – - – - – - –

I’ve noticed this kind of comment more and more lately, and I think it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a banning offence on the two sites.
Earlier on I posted extracts from a thread where Dave Usher (TLW) and Elisha (YNWA) were mentioned by a Koptalk user as having predicted Kuyt would be signing today. In case the post made you think they had said these things, they hadn’t. And I’ve no idea why Duncan Oldham would want to call Dave Usher, other than through jealousy. Dave Usher’s not sat in an old shed tonight pretending he’s getting phoned up by top-class businessmen over investment moves at Anfield. And if he wanted to sit in a shed pretending such things, he’d not be wearing a blond wig and recording himself chatting to a seventeen-year-old boy. (Unless I’ve missed something!).

One of the blog’s unpaid, self-appointed and extremely helpful researchers posted this for us earlier to clear up what Elisha and Dave U had said about Kuyt.

Whois Lookup  Jul 28, 7:53 PM

Neither Dave U nor Elisha have claimed Kuyt was signing Friday.

In fact they’ve said the opposite – we won’t sign Kuyt without selling two or three fringe players first (Dudek, Traore, Kromkamp).

Whois Lookup Jul 28, 8:13 PM

Elisha’s only comments in the last four weeks on Kuyt were: “I think we will need to sell before a forward is bought. Djimi, Dudek, Kromkamp maybe? The money just isnt there for Kuyt or whoever at the moment.”

Dave last comments on Kuyt were: “Alves would have taken up virtually all the cash Rafa has left. As it stands, he still needs to sell before he has the money for Kuyt, but if he’d bought Alves he’d have to raise a lot more cash. Clubs aren’t exactly lining up to take our unwanted cast offs.”

26th July 2006, 01:23 PM

His only other comment in the last 10 days when asked about Kuyt was: “I haven’t heard anything recently, which is why I haven’t posted anything. When I hear something, you lot will be the first to know!”

There’s no charge to go there for those snippets and more if you want them – you have to register free of charge to join YNWA. If you’ve any trouble registering at YNWA they left an address on here the other day you can get in touch with to explain your problem. Failing that email me and I’ll pass it on to them for you.

If this person leaving this comment is the one I think it is he’s another person who’s met more Liverpool players than Duncan Oldham could dream of. And he’s done more for the official site than Dunk could ever possibly hope to. It’s a good example of how Dunk steals anything he can to claim as his own, and how he often falls over his own lies. Again this was left in comments earlier tonight. Thanks DT.

DT Jul 28, 8:37 PM

Mr. Oldham is an embarrassment to the Reds internet community. He would do well to look at Dave Usher for input on how to behave on the internet and how to run a forum. Dave’s made no fortune off his site or fanzine, but at least most people – TLW users or not – respect him for what he is, a genuine red.

The best example I can think of to illustrate the difference between the two is when Dave broke the story that Liverpool were about to sell Danny Murphy (to Spurs who were looking like signing him before he went to Charlton instead) and Oldham rubbished the story. Oldham had previously hinted that Murphy was one of his sources, yet only a few hours after having declared that the TLW story was rubbish, I’m fairly sure he claimed it as an exclusive. Wouldn’t he have known about it before Dave, if he knew Murphy?

No wonder Duncan’s touching cloth. I’d say he follows through a good few times a day too.

No sources leaves Del feeling sore

Duncan Oldham bans anyone from his sites if they show the slightest bit of dissent.

Duncan Oldham claims anyone who criticises him elsewhere is a “former banned member” or someone he “binned”. Another one he uses is “jealous rival of this site”.

As I’ve said before, I’m neither. This blog is no rival, I’ve never been banned. Similar to many of those who stand up against him. The ones who are banned, you’d think it was for being abusive. Tom was banned for coming up with some very well-meant suggestions.

Duncan Oldham says he has no rivals. He doesn’t see anyone else as a rival to him. He says it, but doesn’t mean it. He lies a lot you see…

I thought Kuyt was ‘due’ today
#1575797 – Fri Jul 28 2006 11:38 AM
Didnt we have a post from ‘a source’ claiming that dirk would be announced today?

Whilst i know LFC deadlines and dates always mean two weeks after orginally intended, is there any news on this?

It was a guy on another forum, claiming Carra told him – he wasn;t a well-known insider of any description.

So if Duncan’s got no rivals, and other sites don’t bother him, why is “The Liverpool Way” one of the targets of his cyber squatting attacks. Why post this about Dave Usher, the owner and editor (a real editor) of TLW? It’s because Oldham’s jealous of he fact that Dave Usher has contacts at the Academy, at Melwood and at Anfield. He’s friends with players. In fact Oldham’s probably jealous of the fact that Dave Usher has friends, players or not.

I know that there was a recent post on TLW about Salif Diao not leaving Anfield as expected and instead travelling to Switzerland with the rest of the squad. It came well ahead of Koptalk’s announcement. Like most things really. One of Duncan’s few remaining members asked why the player was on such a high contract. Ideal opportunity for Oldham to complain about anyone who didn’t like Daio, and also to have a go at Rick Parry again.

Just wondering what your views on this is.
I am one of those who has been frustrated by this situation. For me the problem is that we have spent about 15m on him in transfer fee and wages, we bought him (and Cheyrou and Diouf) when we seemed to be about to make the break-through back to the top level, and instead weent backwards. What a waste of money they were.

Now let me clarify. The issue I have is with GED and whoever else at the club signed these guys, rather than with Salif himself. I am sure he has tried his best and he has had injury problems. But why did we sign someone so unproven on such a long term contract. Surely if there is a risk, you sign a 2 or 3 year deal, make the salary small with big bonuses and you can always extend it later.

Second point is that as a LFC fan for 30 odd years I will always support the team 100%, but I am entitled, i think, to critisise the club or individual players, or voice my opinion on them, if i feel they are not good enough. That doesn’t mean that the next time they wear the liver bird on their chest I will not be 100% behind them again.

End of rant.

PEACE

The manager doesn’t set the fee, the player doesn’t set the fee. The chief executive determines the wages and contract duration.

Cristicism of Diao is fine but some of the attacks on him have been disgraceful.

So the manager and player have absolutely no input into a player’s fee, wages or contract duration? I didn’t know that. There’s me thinking a player (and his agent) would discuss wages and length of contract. There’s me thinking that a manager might just say to his chief executive or chairman that he’d not want to pay over a certain amount for a player, or give him too long a contract. Still, we haven’t all got the same contacts as Mr Oldham have we?

As for Oldham’s way of following the news rather than using his claimed sources to get stories, here’s a great comment “Mudface” left yesterday. Thanks again “Mudface”.

Mudface
Just out of interest, I went back through the NewsNow entries for today. Although the times aren’t 100% reliable (at least according to Paul Ward off .tv) they do provide a consistent account of where KopTalk’s recycled ‘news’ stories are stolen from. It appears it takes him only a couple of minutes to copy and rewrite articles from the Echo and the official site , but a while longer to steal stuff off Sky and other websites. Presumably he had a lie-in this morning as the Post’s stadium article wasn’t recycled until nearly 10 am.

Below is a selection from today, I’ve been a bit of a transfer news hound for the last couple of days, and believe me this pattern is repeated day-in, day-out- it’s almost comical.

If only he’d name his sources more often (i.e. which website) and admit he’s got no sources (i.e. players or staff of LFC) then I’d personally not be too bothered.
